Operating in Cambodia since 2003, Western International School is a fast-growing network with 15 campuses nationwide and ongoing expansion, providing educators with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.Role Description This is a full-time, on-site English Teacher role based in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The English Teacher will plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the American English curriculum, focusing on reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for students in assigned grade levels. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and instructional materials, assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining accurate academic records. The teacher will manage classroom behavior, create an inclusive and supportive learning environment, and collaborate with colleagues and school leadership on curriculum development and school activities. Additional duties may include participating in staff meetings, contributing to extracurricular programs, communicating regularly with parents or guardians, and supporting school events as needed.Qualifications Strong English language proficiency with excellent skills in reading, writing, speaking, and classroom communication.Demonstrated ability to design and deliver age-appropriate lessons using modern teaching methods, including lesson planning, classroom management, and student assessment.Experience working in multicultural or international school settings and sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds.Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools to support teaching and learning.Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, TESOL, or a related field; teaching certification or relevant ESL/EFL qualification (e.g., TEFL, TESOL, CELTA) is preferred.Prior teaching experience with Pre-K to Grade 12 students is an advantage, especially in American or international curricula.Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, administrators, and families, and willingness to contribute to school-wide initiatives and activities.Strong organizational skills, reliability, and a commitment to student-centered learning and professional development.
