As part of the faculty, you will have an opportunity to continue to develop one of Philadelphia's most promising educational options for young people.The ideal candidate will have knowledge of best practices in the teaching and learning of various fieldswithin their content field as well as experience in the classroom or in education. They will also haveexperience working with students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds. Preference is given tocandidates willing to get involved in the school community by moderating clubs, coaching athletic teams, and serving as adult leaders on retreats. Faculty members report to the Principal. It is a full-time, exempt, 10-month position performed on-site at Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School, located at 1717 W. Allegheny Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19132.Key ResponsibilitiesPromote high expectations, demonstrate a caring attitude, and establish an environment thatsupports social, emotional, and academic development in students.Develop standards-based, data-driven annual, unit, and lesson plans using backwards planningand assessment data.Plan and implement rigorous, engaging, high-impact lessons that accelerate student growth anddifferentiate for the needs of individual students.Develop assessments linked to course standards, analyze student performance, and designappropriate instructional responses to assessment results.Reflect on teaching practices through regular instructional coaching meetings.Communicate regularly with parents/families to share academic progress and develop asupportive home-school relationship.Participate in other roles related to being a part of the school community, including attendingcampus ministry retreats, supporting work study initiatives, and leading student clubs.Supervise students and redirect as needed within the classroom and other assigned areas.Participate actively in the professional community through collaboration with colleagues in arange of contexts.Hold regular office hours to provide additional instruction and support to individual students.Develop professionally by working with other teachers and leaders to improve student learning,participating in professional developments, and providing and receiving feedback from schoolleaders.Participate in the school community through supervision duties, retreats, and special events.Other duties as assignedEducation & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in or related to assigned courses, Master's Degree preferred.Teacher certification preferred.Demonstrated expertise in subject area.Prior successful teaching experience, preferably 3-5 years.Job Application Process:Submit one PDF containing the following documents to jointheteam@crphs.org:Cover LetterThree Professional ReferencesResumeAbout Cristo Rey Philadelphia High SchoolCristo Rey Philadelphia High School, a college preparatory, Catholic school for students of all faiths,nurtures and challenges young people to recognize and realize their full potential as they learn to loveothers, grow in their faiths, and serve the common good.
