English Tutor- Test Preparation

JOB TITLE: English Test Preparation TutorDEPARTMENT: Test PreparationJOB SUMMARY:We are looking for an experienced English Test Preparation Tutor with a minimum of 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience. The candidate should have experience preparing students for examinations such as SAT, IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT or similar English, verbal reasoning and aptitude-based examinations.The candidate should have excellent command of English and the ability to identify student requirements and develop structured preparation plans that lead to measurable improvement.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Conduct one-to-one and group tutoring sessions.Prepare students for SAT, IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT and similar examinations.Teach reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and verbal reasoning.Develop lesson plans and personalized study strategies.Teach exam-specific question types, formats and time-management techniques.Conduct diagnostic assessments and mock examinations.Identify student strengths and weaknesses and provide targeted support.Prepare students for SAT Reading and Writing sections.Support IELTS and TOEFL preparation where applicable.Track student progress and maintain academic records.Provide regular feedback to students and parents.Analyse mock-test and practice-test performance.Prepare worksheets, practice questions and revision materials.Stay updated with changes in examination formats, syllabi and scoring methods.Work with academic and counselling teams to support student development.Help students establish realistic score targets and preparation timelines.REQUIREMENTS:Minimum 2 years of relevant teaching or tutoring experience.Proven experience teaching SAT, IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT or similar examinations.Excellent written and spoken English.Strong knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, academic writing and verbal reasoning.Strong understanding of standardized test strategies and time management.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to explain complex concepts clearly and simply.Strong student-management and mentoring skills.Ability to work with students from different academic backgrounds.Comfortable conducting both individual and group sessions.Strong organizational skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, Literature, Communications or a related field.CELTA, DELTA, TESOL, TEFL or equivalent certification is an advantage.Experience with American, British, IB, IGCSE or CBSE curricula.Strong personal performance in SAT, GRE, GMAT, IELTS or TOEFL.Previous experience in a test-preparation institute, tutoring centre or education consultancy.Experience mentoring students preparing for competitive universities.Experience developing academic content and mock examinations.IDEAL CANDIDATE:The ideal candidate should have strong English language skills, proven test-preparation expertise and excellent student engagement abilities.
