Our students are encouraged to become men of character, leadership, and service prepared for college, career, and meaningful lives in a global society.About the PositionSalesian High School is seeking qualified candidates for the position of English Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. The position includes English 10, American Literature, and Public Speaking.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate unit and lesson plans to help students develop reading, writing, and critical-thinking skills. Begin the year with lessons on our Summer Reading (1984 and Chickamauga).Differentiate instruction to accommodate the needs and varied learning styles of students.Promote student growth and progress through assessments (formative and summative) that vary between objective and subjective questions.Maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment that fosters curiosity andappreciation for the study of the natural world.Build communication with families to provide updates on student progress and behavior.Collaborate with the Administration and English Department to refine the English curriculum.Participate in faculty supervision before/after school and during lunch periods, as scheduled and needed.Required QualificationsA minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in English, Literature, or English Education.Experience working with high school students in an educational setting or recreational setting.Strong communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, faculty, and administrators.Willingness to consent to a background check and participate in Archdiocesan and Salesian “Safeguarding” training.Commitment to the Catholic and Salesian educational mission of the school, including a willingness to be formed in Salesian charism and the preventive system of St. John Bosco.Compensation & ApplicationSalary Range: $40,000 – $65,000, depending on experience and level of educationStart Date: August 31, 2026Application Materials:Cover letter and resumeContact information for three professional referencesPlease submit materials by regular mail or email to:Mrs. Cynthia Chambers, PrincipalSalesian High School148 E.
