An ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) Specialist—formally known as an Otolaryngologist—is a medical doctor who diagnoses, treats, and surgically manages conditions affecting the ears, nose, throat, head, and neck. Core ResponsibilitiesPatient Consultations: Evaluate outpatients using tools like otoscopes, nasal endoscopes, and laryngoscopes to diagnose acute and chronic issues.Medical Management: Treat conditions such as ear infections, sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, tonsillitis, and voice disorders with medications or lifestyle changes.Surgical Interventions: Perform procedures like tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, septoplasties, functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), tympanoplasties, and head/neck tumor removals. Emergency Care: Handle acute crises including severe nosebleeds (epistaxis), foreign body extractions, deep neck infections, and upper airway obstructions or emergency tracheostomies.Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work with audiologists, speech therapists, oncologists, and pediatricians to coordinate hearing aids, cochlear implants, or cancer treatments
