Enterprise Data ArchitectEnterprise Architect - DATA is required by our global client for long term projectThe successful candidate will lead the end-to-end architecture of complex digital solutions, translating business outcomes and non-functional requirements into secure, resilient, scalable and operable designs. The role bridges strategy and delivery across applications, data, integration, cloud platforms and engineering, while governing key trade-offs and ensuring alignment with enterprise principles, target architectures and multi-cloud standards.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOwn solution architecture from discovery through deployment and transition to operations, producing context, logical, physical, integration, data, security and deployment views.Translate business, functional and non-functional requirements into target solutions, architecture decisions, transition states and delivery roadmaps.Design cloud-native applications using 12-factor principles, APIs, microservices, containers, serverless patterns, distributed systems, resiliency, observability and automated operations.Define portable deployment standards for hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including infrastructure as code, CI/CD, configuration, secrets, release, scalability, availability and disaster-recovery requirements.Select fit-for-purpose integration patterns, including synchronous APIs, event-driven messaging, streaming, orchestration, batch interfaces and ETL/ELT; define contracts, ownership, latency, retry, idempotency and failure handling.Design end-to-end data flows and integration architectures covering operational stores, dimensional models, lakes, warehouses and data products; govern modelling, transformation, lineage, metadata, quality, security and retention.Lead solution option assessments and govern build, partner, buy, reuse and shape decisions based on differentiation, capability, time-to-value, total cost, portability, lock-in, risk and operating impact.Evaluate platforms, products, vendors and partner designs; validate technical claims through evidence, proof of concept and measurable acceptance criteria.Lead design reviews and approve solution designs for compliance with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, data, service-management and cloud guardrails; document exceptions and remediation.Provide technical direction to software, data, platform, DevOps, security and operations teams; ensure architecture is implementable and remains aligned through delivery.Identify and reduce technical debt, duplication and unnecessary customization by promoting reusable services, standard patterns and governed technology choices.Advise senior stakeholders on architecture choices, risks, dependencies, cost and delivery trade-offs, and maintain architecture decision records and assurance evidence.ESSENTIAL experience must include15+ years of IT experience, including at least 10 years in solution, application, data or enterprise architecture roles delivering complex transformation programmes.Strong hands-on architecture background across software engineering, data engineering, integration, cloud platforms, infrastructure, security and operations.Deep knowledge of cloud-native and distributed architecture, 12-factor applications, microservices, APIs, containers, serverless, event-driven design, streaming and batch processing.Strong command of integration and data patterns, including API management, messaging, ETL/ELT, operational and dimensional modelling, transformation, lineage, metadata, master/reference data and data-quality controls.Experience defining deployment and engineering standards for hybrid and multi-cloud environments, including infrastructure as code, CI/CD, testing, observability, reliability and secure-by-design practices.Proven ability to assess build, partner, buy, reuse and shape options and to challenge vendor proposals, proprietary claims, lock-in, commercial assumptions and operating-model impacts.Practical experience with architecture principles, reference architectures, target-state roadmaps, design authorities, architecture decision records and governance frameworks such as TOGAF.Ability to balance strategic alignment with delivery pragmatism and make explicit trade-offs across cost, speed, quality, security, resilience, portability and maintainability.Strong facilitation, technical leadership and executive communication skills, with the ability to influence engineering teams, vendors and senior decision-makers.Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information systems or a related discipline; postgraduate qualification is advantageous.TOGAF and relevant cloud architecture certification; data, integration, security or Kubernetes certification is advantageous.
