Entry-Level Network Engineer

Position OverviewWe are looking for an entry-level network engineer to join our IT infrastructure team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional who wants to build hands-on experience in networking, troubleshooting, network security, and IT infrastructure.The selected candidate will work alongside experienced network and infrastructure engineers to monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and support enterprise network environments.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network devices.Support routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPN connections.Monitor network performance and respond to alerts and connectivity issues.Troubleshoot basic network connectivity and performance problems.Assist with configuring VLANs, IP addresses, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and subnetting.Support network access and security configurations under the guidance of senior engineers.Assist with network equipment upgrades, deployments, and maintenance.Document network configurations, troubleshooting steps, and technical procedures.Use network monitoring and troubleshooting tools to identify issues.Escalate complex network problems to senior engineers when required.Assist with network diagrams, asset inventories, and technical documentation.Collaborate with IT support, cybersecurity, cloud, and infrastructure teams.Participate in network improvement and infrastructure projects.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.0–2 years of experience in networking, IT infrastructure, or a related field.Strong understanding of basic networking concepts.Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, and subnetting.Basic understanding of routers, switches, and firewalls.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Good communication and documentation skills.Willingness to learn new networking technologies and tools.Preferred QualificationsCCNA certification or currently pursuing CCNA.Internship, academic project, or hands-on lab experience with networking.Basic experience with Cisco networking equipment.Familiarity with Wireshark, Packet Tracer, or similar networking tools.Basic knowledge of cloud networking concepts such as AWS or Azure.Basic scripting knowledge in Python is a plus.Technical SkillsNetworking: TCP/IP | DNS | DHCP | VLAN | VPN | NAT | SubnettingRouting & Switching: Basic Routing | Switching | OSPF Fundamentals | STPSecurity: Firewalls | ACLs | Network Security FundamentalsTools: Cisco Packet Tracer | Wireshark | Network Monitoring ToolsCloud: AWS / Azure FundamentalsProgramming: Basic Python – PreferredIdeal CandidateWe are looking for someone who is:Passionate about networking and IT infrastructureCurious and willing to learnStrong in troubleshooting and logical problem-solvingDetail-oriented and organizedComfortable working in a team environmentAble to communicate technical issues clearlyInterested in developing a long-term career in network engineeringCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive compensation based on experience and locationFull-time W2 employmentRemote, hybrid, or on-site opportunities depending on the positionTraining and professional development opportunitiesCareer growth within IT infrastructure and networking
