Entry-Level Staff Accountant

We are seeking an Entry-Level Staff Accountant for our busy client in Westbrook, ME, to join a collaborative accounting and finance team. This is a great opportunity for a recent accounting or finance graduate or someone with early-career accounting experience who is looking to build their skills in a professional environment.You’ll support accounts receivable, general ledger activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting while gaining exposure to a variety of accounting functions.What You’ll DoAssist with monthly accounts receivable and general accounting activitiesReview and reconcile account balances and research discrepanciesPrepare and post journal entriesAssist with balance sheet and general ledger reconciliationsReview accounting transactions for accuracyResearch and help resolve accounting questions or issuesSupport recurring journal entries, cost centers, and general ledger account maintenanceAssist with cross-border transactions and related documentation as neededHelp prepare information for internal and external auditsSupport ongoing financial reporting and month-end accounting activitiesWork closely with other accounting and finance team members on special projectsWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceBasic understanding of accounting principlesStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsComfortable working with numbers and researching discrepanciesGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to meet deadlines and manage multiple prioritiesStrong computer skills, including Microsoft ExcelAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamExperience with an ERP or accounting system is helpful but not requiredSAP experience is a plusGreat Fit ForThis position could be a great next step for a recent accounting graduate, Accounting Assistant, Junior Accountant, Accounts Receivable Specialist, or other early-career accounting professional looking to gain broader hands-on accounting experience.9-5:30, Monday through Friday. $25-28/hr. depending on experience. 100% onsite.Salary DisclaimerThe salary range for this role reflects the minimum and maximum compensation for the role.
