قدّم وتابع مع أبلاي إيدجEnvironment ManagerPermanent | Multi-Site (North East & Scotland) | Hybrid Working | £50,000 – £63,000 with car allowance of £491 per month About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Environment Manager to lead the development and implementation of a newly evolving environmental function across a highly innovative, multi-site technology and manufacturing organisation.This is a unique opportunity to build and shape environmental management from the ground up. Operating across R&D, pilot-scale manufacturing, GMP facilities, and innovation programmes, you'll play a critical role in ensuring environmental compliance while enabling responsible innovation and supporting the business in developing new technologies and capabilities in a safe, compliant, and sustainable manner.The successful candidate will lead the development of an environmental management framework aligned with ISO 14001, whilst acting as a trusted advisor to operational, technical, commercial, and leadership teams. This is not simply a compliance role. We're looking for someone with the confidence and experience to identify opportunities, challenge thinking, and help unlock innovative solutions within complex regulatory environments.What You'll Be Responsible For:Environmental Strategy & LeadershipLead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the organisation's Environmental Management System (EMS)Shape environmental governance, standards, and policies across multiple sitesSupport the integration of environmental considerations into decision-making, operations, R&D activities, and future business growthAct as the organisation's environmental subject matter expert and key advisor to senior stakeholdersEnvironmental Compliance & PermittingLead environmental permitting activities, including permit applications, variations, maintenance, and compliance managementDevelop strong working relationships with regulatory bodies including the Environment Agency and SEPAInterpret environmental legislation and permit conditions, translating them into practical operational controlsLead inspections, audits, regulatory engagement, and compliance activities across multiple sitesSustainability, ESG & Circular EconomySupport sustainability initiatives including:Resource efficiencyWaste reductionCarbon management and Net Zero activitiesEnvironmental impact reduction programmesContribute to ESG reporting, performance monitoring, and sustainability strategy developmentIdentify opportunities to embed environmental thinking into customer projects and innovation programmesSupport the development of circular economy initiatives and social value activitiesMulti-Site Governance & AssuranceProvide environmental oversight across multiple technical and manufacturing sitesDevelop KPIs, dashboards, reporting frameworks, and environmental performance metricsConduct audits and assurance activities to identify risks and improvement opportunitiesSupport site leaders with environmental incident management and corrective actionsBusiness & Customer SupportSupport commercial, technical, and bid teams in assessing environmental requirements within new opportunitiesEnsure new projects and technologies are developed in compliance with environmental obligationsHelp identify practical solutions to complex environmental challenges within innovative and evolving technologiesBalance operational requirements, regulatory expectations, and commercial objectives across diverse stakeholder groupsAbout YouYou are an experienced environmental professional who combines strong technical and regulatory knowledge with commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.You'll bring:Significant experience in an environmental leadership or management roleStrong knowledge of environmental permitting and UK environmental legislationExperience operating within regulated industrial, technical, manufacturing, energy, chemical, pharmaceutical, or engineering environmentsDemonstrable experience implementing and managing Environmental Management Systems aligned to ISO 14001Strong stakeholder management and influencing skillsExperience working with regulators, inspections, audits, and compliance activitiesThe ability to balance environmental compliance with business growth and innovation objectivesDesirable ExperienceChartered Environmentalist status or professional membership of IEMA, ISEP, IES, or equivalentESG and sustainability reporting experienceExperience developing environmental strategies across multi-site organisationsCircular economy, waste reduction, or resource efficiency programmesExperience within science, manufacturing, R&D, advanced technology, GMP, chemical processing, or technically complex environmentsExperience working with emissions, solvents, waste management, or environmental permits in regulated settingsWhy Join Us?Opportunity to create and shape a new environmental functionInfluence environmental strategy across multiple sites and technologiesWork closely with senior stakeholders and operational leadersSupport cutting-edge innovation projects and emerging technologiesSignificant opportunity to leave a lasting impact on organisational environmental performanceCompetitive salary package (£50,000 – £63,000)Location & Working PatternHybrid working modelRegular travel across sites in the North East and ScotlandSignificant presence at operational and technical locations as requiredFlexible approach to working arrangementsThe OpportunityThis is a rare opportunity for an ambitious environmental professional to build something meaningful.
