ABOUTOur client is a Swiss-founded project freight forwarder, established in Basel in 1971 and now operating through 24 offices worldwide. The business was built on EPC and energy project freight and has stayed in that lane for five decades. It does not run a general cargo consol desk. Every file in the building is a project file. The Houston office opened on the Energy Corridor in 2010 and has grown to 45 staff across project operations, chartering and transport engineering. The client base is EPC contractors, OEMs and energy developers, with an average client tenure of 11 years. The company has been awarded logistics scopes on two Gulf Coast LNG expansions and a Permian gas processing build-out, with deliveries running into 2029. Those files open in Q4, which is why this seat is being added now rather than next year. The coordinator hired into this role walks into live scopes, not a bench.CORE RESPONSIBILITIESYou will open, manage and close project files across breakbulk, OOG and containerised scopes, from ITB award through final delivery to site. You will produce clean documentation sets first time: packing lists, commercial invoices, EEI and AES filings, ISF, and letter of credit presentations. You will book flat racks, open tops, RoRo and breakbulk tonnage, and coordinate with the chartering desk on part-charter fixtures. You will track vendor readiness with the expediting team and align cargo availability with laycans to keep demurrage and detention off the file. You will coordinate route surveys, transloads and marshalling yard moves with heavy haul subcontractors. You will maintain milestone reporting in CargoWise and client portals, and issue exception reports the same day a problem appears. You will support transport engineering on method statement and QHSE paperwork for site deliveries. You will reconcile vendor invoices against quotations and protect GP on every file you touch. You will sit in weekly logistics calls with EPC client leads and hold your own in the detail.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORYou have at least two years in freight forwarding operations with exposure to project cargo or breakbulk files, on the forwarder or NVOCC side. You know your incoterms and can explain where risk transfers on a DAP versus a DDP project scope. You have produced export documentation under letter of credit terms and filed AES/EEI and ISF without hand-holding.You have worked in CargoWise One or a comparable TMS.You are comfortable reading OOG dimensions and understand the basics of flat rack securing and weight distribution. You keep files in order when the schedule compresses, because project deliveries run to shutdown dates, not office hours. You are based in, or willing to relocate to, Houston and work from the Energy Corridor office.WHAT'S ON OFFERAnnual bonus tied to file quality and project milestones.Medical, dental and vision cover, 401(k) with company match, and PTO.A direct progression route into project management on live LNG scopes.A 45-person office where the chartering desk and the PM group sit within earshot, not in another time zone.Confidential Search | Placed by Altius TalentSend your CV to lewis.wilson@wearealtius.com or message directly on LinkedIn.
