Our panel manufacturing facility delivers high-quality solutions across various industries including manufacturing, water & wastewater, oil & gas, food & beverage, and infrastructure.We are looking for an experienced Electrical Estimation Engineer to join our team and support our growing project portfolio.Key ResponsibilitiesReview customer enquiries, RFQs, technical specifications, drawings, and tender documents.Prepare techno-commercial cost estimates for:Motor Control Centers (MCC)PLC & Automation Control PanelsVFD PanelsRemote I/O PanelsMarshalling PanelsAnalyze electrical schematics, single-line diagrams (SLDs), GA drawings, P&IDs, and control philosophies.Calculate PLC I/O count and prepare I/O summaries from customer documentation.Select suitable panel components including:PLCsHMIsPower suppliesCircuit breakers (MCCB/MCB)Contactors & Overload RelaysVariable Frequency Drives (VFDs)Soft StartersRelays & Safety RelaysTerminal BlocksSurge Protection DevicesNetwork switchesInstrumentation interfacesSize electrical components, cables, busbars, power supplies, and panel accessories.Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and material take-offs.Float RFQs/RFPs to approved vendors and suppliers.Evaluate vendor quotations for technical compliance and commercial competitiveness.Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and production teams to optimize designs and costs.Prepare detailed cost estimates covering:Material costFabrication costWiring & assemblyTesting & FATEngineering hoursLogistics and contingencyMaintain estimation databases and standard costing templates.Support the sales team during bid clarification meetings and customer discussions.Required QualificationsBachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.3–8 years of experience in estimation of industrial control panels or switchgear panels.Experience in a control panel manufacturing company (Panel Shop/System Integrator/OEM) is highly preferred.Required Technical SkillsStrong understanding of MCC and PLC control panel design.Ability to derive PLC I/O lists from customer specifications.Knowledge of industrial automation architectures.Familiarity with IEC electrical standards and industrial control panel practices.Knowledge of power distribution and motor control circuits.Experience with panel component selection and sizing.Understanding of:MCCBs, MCBs, ACBsContactorsOverload RelaysVFDsSoft StartersPLCsHMIsSafety PLCsIndustrial EthernetRemote I/OUPS systemsControl transformersAbility to interpret:Single Line Diagrams (SLD)Control SchematicsGA DrawingsP&IDsCable SchedulesKnowledge of panel thermal considerations and enclosure sizing is an advantage.Software SkillsAutoCAD Electrical (preferred)EPLAN (preferred)Microsoft Excel (Advanced)Microsoft Office SuiteVendor & Commercial SkillsVendor identification and sourcing.Preparing RFQs/RFPs.Technical and commercial comparison of vendor quotations.Cost analysis and optimization.Negotiation support.Procurement coordination.Desired CompetenciesStrong analytical and numerical skills.Excellent attention to detail.Ability to work under tight bid submission deadlines.Good communication and documentation skills.Team player with strong coordination abilities.Commercial awareness and cost-conscious mindset.Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.Preferred ExperienceCandidates with experience working on automation platforms from one or more of the following manufacturers will be preferred:SiemensSchneider ElectricRockwell Automation (Allen-Bradley)OmronPhoenix ContactWAGOWhat We OfferOpportunity to work on challenging industrial automation projects.Exposure to leading global automation technologies.Collaborative engineering environment.Career growth and learning opportunities.Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.If you have a strong background in electrical estimation and industrial control panels and enjoy turning customer requirements into accurate, competitive proposals, we'd love to hear from you.
