Apply & track with Apply EdgeThe role ensures the preparation of accurate cost estimates, competitive bid submissions, effective commercial evaluations, and successful tendering strategies in compliance with contractual requirements and company objectives, while driving profitability and supporting business growth.Key AccountabilitiesKey ActivitiesTendering & Bid ManagementLead the preparation and submission of technical and commercial tenders.Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.Develop tendering strategies and pricing methodologies.Coordinate with engineering, procurement, planning, and commercial teams during bid preparation.Evaluate project risks and opportunities during tender stages.Ensure timely submission of tender proposals.Estimation & Cost AnalysisPrepare and review detailed cost estimates and pricing models.Conduct quantity take-offs and cost analysis.Review supplier and subcontractor quotations.Establish project budgets and cost benchmarks.Maintain historical cost databases and estimation records.Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all estimates.Variations ManagementReview, evaluate, and price project variations and change orders.Assess commercial impact of scope changes.Prepare variation proposals and supporting documentation.Coordinate with project teams to verify quantities and variation requirements.Participate in negotiations related to variation claims.Track and monitor approved and pending variations.Value EngineeringIdentify opportunities for value engineering and cost optimization.Develop alternative technical and commercial solutions.Conduct cost-benefit analysis for proposed alternatives.Evaluate material substitutions and alternative construction methods.Support management with recommendations that improve project value while maintaining quality and compliance.Team Leadership & Continuous ImprovementLead and mentor estimation and tendering team members.Review and approve estimates prepared by team members.Improve estimation procedures, templates, and methodologies.Support knowledge sharing and lessons learned initiatives.Perform other duties as assigned by management.JOB SPECIFICATIONSIndustry / DomainConstruction Necessary Knowledge and ExperienceMinimum 13–15 years of experience in estimation, tendering, and commercial functions within construction projects.Proven experience managing D01C contracts.Strong experience in tender preparation, bid management, and cost estimation.Experience in pricing variations, change orders, and claims.Strong understanding of value engineering practices.Experience leading estimation teams and coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders.Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project costs, and commercial management.Education and Certification Minimum RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.PMP, CCP, MRICS, or equivalent professional certification is preferred.Job Specific Technical SkillsTendering & Bid ManagementCost Estimation & Cost PlanningVariation Pricing & Change ManagementValue EngineeringD01C Contract AdministrationQuantity Take-Off & BOQ AnalysisRisk Assessment & Commercial AnalysisCost BenchmarkingAdvanced Microsoft ExcelERP SystemsContract ManagementNegotiation & Stakeholder ManagementLeadership & Team ManagementStrategic Planning & Decision Making
