Job Details:Position: Electric Vehicle, Vehicle Technician/ Senior Technician with EV expertiseLocation: Superior Township, MI (Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, & Canton area)Work Schedule: Fully onsiteInterview: 1 round, 1-hour long interview on MS TeamsOT: Yes EligibleTravel: 70% to facilities in United StatesMust Haves:Associate’s degree in automotive repair or related program4 years of experience with vehicle testing equipment and testing processes2 years of experience working with EV energy storage systems and battery systems2 years of experience with automotive wiring harnessesUnderstanding of system design and Validation processesAbility to read, interpret and maintain technical documentation and service recordsASE certification + Michigan State Mechanic Certification Day to Day: Insight Global is looking for a Vehicle Technician expertise in EV’s to support an OEM in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The EV Vehicle Technician is expected to deliver the following outcomesEnsure electric vehicle development fleet is maintained in optimal operating conditionSupport prototype vehicle builds and modifications to meet development and testing requirementsAccurately install and maintain vehicle instrumentation and test equipmentDiagnose and resolve vehicle system issues efficiently using appropriate diagnostic toolsSupport engineering teams with vehicle preparation, parts replacement, and test evaluationsMaintain a safe, organized, and compliant workshop environmentEnsure all repair and maintenance activities meet manufacturer and regulatory standards.Enable successful vehicle testing programs through timely technical support at test locationsMaintain accurate documentation and inventory for parts, tools, and testing equipmentProvide reliable technical support for field testing activities across multiple locationsKey ResponsibilitiesVehicle Maintenance & RepairPerform maintenance and repair activities on electric vehiclesDiagnose vehicle issues using diagnostic tools and equipment (Hyundai GDS experience preferred)Conduct post-repair testing to ensure vehicles are operating correctlyEnsure all repair work meets manufacturer specifications and industry standardsPrototype & Development SupportSupport prototype vehicle builds and system modificationsAssist engineers with vehicle development activities such as parts replacement, testing preparation, and evaluationInstall and maintain instrumentation required for vehicle testing and data collectionTesting & Technical SupportConstruct and install test harnesses for vehicle systemsSafely apply testing equipment to EV high-voltage battery systemsSupport vehicle testing activities both in-house and at external test locationsProvide on-site technical support during vehicle development and testing programsWorkshop & Safety ManagementMaintain shop cleanliness and organizationFollow safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free working environmentMaintain tools and equipment in good working conditionOrder parts and maintain accurate inventory recordsField Testing & TravelTravel extensively to vehicle testing sites across the United States (up to 70%)Support test vehicle operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting in field environmentsAssist in emergency response for urgent system issues when necessaryCompensation:$30/hr to $35/hr.Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one ofemployment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance.
