Through personalized branded experiences for our guests, we will ensure outstanding results and returns to all stakeholders.POSITION PURPOSEWorking within the Sales team, this position has responsibility for responding to all Group and Event enquiries in order to maximize revenue & utilization of meeting space, working to ensure, at a minimum, delivery of budgeted revenues. The EBC Coordinator will manage and convert all business, including contracting, in addition to managing group room and function diary inventory.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSEnsure correct application of Group Enquiry Form procedure. Timeline for response back to client is defined by client expectations, which will vary for each request and must be confirmed with client at time of enquiry.(Standard response time is within 24 hours of receiving enquiry)To develop a good knowledge of Opera and other Marriott systems in order to be competent in monitoring and evaluating availabilityIdentify operational limitations and sell only what we advertise and can effectively manage operationallyTraces to be set for every enquiry after a maximum of 24 hours & ensure trace report is completed on a daily basis.Compile Contracts for all Group and Events associated business for authorized Hotel signatoryWork closely with the Corporate Sales Team to action enquiries and convert businessActively use MI LEADS as a means of referral, achieving agreed targets & work to exceed preset targetsActively use MI LEADS as appropriate & acquire full knowledgeable understanding of the programCooperate with the finance department in preparing the invoice of groups & events and review the invoice with the client wherever that is possibleMonitor and update external (online) lead channels such as OneSource/SFA, MI LEADS and C-vents at all times.Attend daily events briefing providing accurate updates on details of bookings and enquiriesTo attend weekly Business On the Books meeting chaired by the Events Booking Center – ManagerTo ensure tentative business block information is updated on a weekly basis & provide accurate updates to the Events Booking Center – Manager to present at the revenue strategy meetingEnsure regular updates in Opera on specific bookings within the 30/60/90 timeframe are provided in order to assist Revenue Manager in accurate forecastingEffectively manage time ensuring the completion of all pre-set tasks on a daily basis.To participate in departmental and Marriott courses as requiredEnsure site inspections are conducted in a methodical fashion adhering to the core standards of the departmentMust demonstrate an awareness of the importance of body language in communication and interaction with othersTake part in special projects as directed by the Events Booking Center – ManagerSPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESMinimum of 3 years operational working experience in hotelAble to multi-task and work with deadlines under high pressureExcellent communicator and listenerQUALIFICATION STANDARDSWe do expect that you do have the experiences/ behaviors below.
