Apply & track with Apply EdgeThe Event Communication Director is responsible for leading all communication, coordination, and execution aspects of events from concept through delivery. Acting as the central point of contact between clients, vendors, and internal teams, this role ensures flawless event execution, accurate information flow, and proactive decision-making while maintaining the highest standards of client service.The ideal candidate combines exceptional client-facing skills with strong operational authority, possessing deep expertise in event production, project management, and stakeholder engagement. They must be equally comfortable presenting strategic recommendations to senior clients and holding vendors accountable to deliverables, timelines, quality standards, and budgets.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Relationship Management:Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients throughout the event lifecycle.Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders through professionalism, confidence, and responsiveness.Lead client meetings, presentations, status updates, and project reviews.Translate client objectives into actionable event plans and production requirements.Manage expectations and proactively communicate project progress, risks, and solutions.Provide strategic recommendations and make informed decisions on behalf of the project when required.Ensure all deliverables are aligned with the approved scope, budget, and timeline.Vendor & Production Management:Lead and coordinate all external vendors, suppliers, contractors, and production partners.Negotiate scopes, timelines, budgets, and deliverables with vendors.Enforce accountability and ensure all parties meet agreed commitments.Resolve operational issues and conflicts quickly and professionally.Conduct regular production reviews and site inspections to ensure readiness.Monitor production quality, compliance, and event standards throughout execution.Event Operations & Execution:Oversee the complete event planning and production process.Develop detailed project plans, timelines, workback schedules, and execution frameworks.Ensure seamless coordination between creative, production, logistics, venue, hospitality, digital, and technical teams.Anticipate operational challenges and implement contingency plans.Lead on-site event delivery and manage real-time decision-making during execution.Ensure the event experience reflects client objectives and brand standards.Communication & Reporting:Maintain clear, accurate, and timely communication across all stakeholders.Produce detailed status reports, meeting minutes, action trackers, and progress updates.Ensure information shared with clients and vendors is always current and accurate.Track decisions, change requests, approvals, and scope amendments.Establish effective reporting structures to maintain transparency and alignment.Planning, Budget & Governance:Work closely with account and event leadership to manage budgets and profitability.Monitor project expenditures and identify potential financial risks.Support procurement processes and vendor evaluation.Maintain project documentation and compliance standards.Required Skills & CompetenciesClient Leadership:Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.Professional executive presence and confidence when engaging senior stakeholders.Ability to navigate challenging client conversations while preserving strong relationships.Strong presentation and storytelling capabilities.Vendor & Team Management:Ability to command respect and drive accountability across multiple vendors.Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.Decisive leadership style with proven problem-solving ability under pressure.Experience managing large multidisciplinary teams.Event & Production Expertise:Comprehensive understanding of event production, technical requirements, logistics, fabrication, staging, AV, entertainment, hospitality, and venue operations.Ability to identify risks and make informed decisions without constant supervision.Hands-on experience managing complex events, activations, launches, conferences, exhibitions, and VIP experiences.Organization & Execution Excellence:Highly organized with attention to details.Strong project management and time management capabilities.Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously under tight deadlines.Commitment to accuracy, quality control, and execution excellence.Strong understanding of scope management and change control processes.
Qualifications
