Guided by its 2031 strategy, Healthier Together, the organisation is focused on being connected and trusted, focused on people and enabled by technology, with a genuine commitment to respect, safety and partnering in care.The opportunityReporting to the Chief Executive and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer provides professional and strategic leadership for nursing and midwifery across Eastern Health and executive leadership for Residential Aged Care Services and non-clinical support services. The next Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer will:Provide professional and strategic leadership for nursing and midwifery, strengthening the fundamentals of safe, person-centred care at the bedsideLead executive oversight of Residential Aged Care Services and non-clinical support services, including food, security and contracted servicesBuild nursing and midwifery leadership capability, succession and long-term workforce planning across a large, complex workforceWork alongside union and industrial partners, and contribute as a collaborative member of a trusted Executive Leadership Team About youYou will bring:Current registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with AHPRA and a relevant postgraduate qualification at Master's levelSubstantial executive leadership experience in a large, complex health service, with authority across nursing and midwifery practiceA track record of turning strategy into measurable improvements in care, safety, workforce and organisational performanceConfidence engaging with unions and other industrial partners, with midwifery experience highly regarded given the scale of Eastern Health's maternity service What’s on OfferWhy is this role special to others that are advertised?
