We work with restaurants, bars, cafés, and cloud kitchens to improve profitability through tighter inventory control, accurate costing, variance reduction, and data-driven decision-making.We don’t just provide software we partner with brands to bring financial discipline + operational control into their daily workflows.Role Overview – F&B ControllerThis role is ideal for someone who comes from an F&B, accounting, or cost-control background and wants to work in a more analytical, tech-enabled environment.As the F&B Controller, you will be responsible for monitoring inventory, validating consumption, analysing food and beverage costs, and ensuring that clients maintain strong operational and financial controls using Barometer MATS.You will act as the bridge between finance, kitchen operations, store teams, and our software, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and profitability for our clients.Key ResponsibilitiesInventory, Purchasing & Stock ControlOversee and validate inventory data across kitchens, bars, and stores.Monitor stock levels, material movement, and consumption accuracy.Track wastage, spoilage, pilferage, and identify root causes.Assist clients with ordering processes and stock planning using Barometer MATS.Cost Control & Variance AnalysisCompute food and beverage costs for daily/weekly/monthly cycles.Identify major variances, analyse reasons, and provide corrective actions.Review recipe costing, yield percentages, and profitability of menu items.Track non-chargeable consumption, promotions, and operational inefficiencies.Financial Reporting & Data AnalysisPrepare costing reports, consumption reports, and profit-impact summaries.Analyse trends in ingredient usage, pricing, recipe performance, and stock movement.Highlight actionable insights to reduce costs and improve margins.Support clients with budgeting inputs and operational forecasts where required.Auditing & ComplianceConduct digital and physical audits for inventory, recipes, production, and stock-taking.Verify purchase invoices against system entries and ensure compliance.Ensure financial discipline and internal controls are consistently maintained.Client Collaboration & SupportWork directly with chefs, storekeepers, managers, and owners to streamline processes.Train client teams on inventory entry, recipes, controls, and best practices.Act as the primary point of contact for reporting, queries, and operational fixes.Provide structured feedback to internal product teams to improve the software.RequirementsMust-Have SkillsStrong understanding of Excel/Google Sheets (lookups, pivots, cost sheets, reconciliation).Strong analytical and numerical ability — comfortable working with financial data.Experience in F&B cost control, inventory management or accounting.Understanding of recipes, yields, food cost %, beverage cost %, variance calculation, and stock audits.Good communication skills for interacting with client teams and explaining findings clearly.Strong organisational skills with the ability to spot errors, discrepancies, and inefficiencies.Nice to HaveExperience with F&B inventory tools, POS systems, accounting software, or ERP platforms.Background in MIS reporting, cost accounting, internal audits, or restaurant finance.Exposure to menu engineering, production planning, or supply chain processes.Prior experience in a café/restaurant/hotel kitchen or store operations.Perks of Working With BarometerHybrid work structureExposure to India’s top hospitality brandsDirect mentorship from founders and senior leadersHigh-impact role in a rapidly scaling SaaS companyClear career path into senior F&B Controls, Client Strategy, Ops Management, or MIS rolesHands-on learning through real operational challenges
