Based in Sandusky, Ohio, this role directs agency-wide fiscal, administrative, and clinical operations to advance population health, maintain Public Health Accreditation, and support our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) infrastructure. Key Responsibilities & Leadership ScopeExecutive Oversight: Lead day-to-day operations, human resources, budget management, and strategic direction for all health department and FQHC divisions. Board & Municipal Leadership: Serve as Secretary of the Erie County Board of Health and consult with municipal leaders across Erie County to align public health priorities. Community & Clinical Impact: Direct community health needs assessments (CHNA), emergency preparedness initiatives, communicable disease outbreak responses, and environmental health safeguards. Quality & Accreditation: Champion continuous quality improvement (QI), performance management, and Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) standards. Education & Qualification StandardsEducational / Professional Licensure Requirements (per ORC 3709.11): Must be a licensed physician, licensed dentist, licensed veterinarian, licensed podiatrist, licensed chiropractor, OR hold a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH) or an equivalent master’s degree in a related health field as determined by the Board of Health. Leadership Experience: Minimum of three (3) years leading community initiatives and/or facilitating public health teams. Preferred Background: Executive administrative experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) setting and advanced graduate work in public health. Technical Experience: Strong background in performance management, quality improvement, strategic planning, community health improvement planning (CHIP), and environmental/communicable disease outbreak response. Certifications & Logistics: Valid Ohio driver’s license with reliable transportation; CPR certification within 4 months; NIMS/ICS (100.c, 700.b, 200.c) certifications within 1 month of hire. Position DetailsSchedule: Full-Time, Exempt (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday; evenings, weekends, and emergency response calls as required).
