EXIM Manager – Garment ExportCompany: Prewal Studio Private LimitedLocation: Gurugram, HaryanaIndustry: Garment Manufacturing & ExportExperience: 5–8 YearsAbout the RolePrewal Studio Private Limited is looking for an experienced and hands-on EXIM Manager who will independently own and manage the company's complete export-import, international shipping, documentation and compliance function.This is a key ownership role. The candidate will be the primary person responsible for ensuring that all export shipments, imports, customs documentation, DGFT-related processes, Advance Authorisation requirements and international logistics activities are handled accurately and on time.The ideal candidate should have strong experience working with a garment export house, apparel manufacturer, textile exporter or similar export-oriented manufacturing company.Key ResponsibilitiesIndependently manage the complete Export-Import (EXIM) function of the company.Handle end-to-end export shipment planning, documentation and execution.Prepare, verify and maintain:Commercial InvoicesPacking ListsShipping BillsBills of LadingAirway BillsCertificates of OriginBuyer-specific shipping documentsOther export and customs-related documentationCoordinate with CHA, customs authorities, freight forwarders, shipping lines, airlines and courier companies.Manage air, sea and courier shipments to international customers.Independently handle imports from China and other countries, including fabrics, trims, accessories, machinery or other materials required by the company.Coordinate import documentation, Bills of Entry, customs clearance and delivery of imported materials.Handle and monitor DGFT-related activities, including:Advance AuthorisationApplications and amendmentsImport utilisationExport obligation trackingLicence documentationClosure / redemption of authorisationsMaintain proper mapping of materials imported under Advance Authorisation against corresponding export obligations.Ensure all export-import transactions comply with DGFT, Customs, ICEGATE and applicable government regulations.Coordinate with banks, accounts and finance teams for export/import documents wherever required.Maintain proper records of Shipping Bills, Bills of Entry, invoices, packing lists, BL/AWB and other shipment documents.Monitor shipment schedules and ensure goods are dispatched according to committed buyer timelines.Coordinate closely with merchandising, production, sourcing, warehouse and accounts teams to ensure shipment readiness.Review buyer shipping instructions before dispatch and ensure complete compliance with customer requirements.Track shipments until final delivery and proactively resolve delays, customs issues or documentation discrepancies.Obtain and compare freight quotations from different logistics partners.Negotiate and monitor freight, courier and forwarding costs wherever required.Work towards optimising international logistics and shipment costs.Maintain strong relationships with CHA, freight forwarders, shipping lines and logistics partners.Maintain an EXIM compliance calendar and ensure that no licence, documentation, submission or export obligation deadline is missed.Maintain and regularly update MIS covering:Export shipmentsImport shipmentsShipment statusPending documentationFreight costsAdvance Authorisation utilisationExport obligation statusCustoms-related issuesProvide regular shipment and EXIM updates directly to management.Identify potential risks or delays in advance and take responsibility for resolving them.Ensure documentation accuracy to avoid shipment delays, customs penalties, buyer claims or financial losses.Candidate RequirementsMinimum 5 years of relevant experience in EXIM, export-import documentation, international shipping or logistics.Strong hands-on experience in a garment export house / apparel / textile / fashion manufacturing export company is highly preferred.Must be capable of independently handling the complete EXIM function.Strong knowledge of export documentation and shipping procedures.Practical experience handling imports from China or other overseas suppliers.Hands-on understanding of:Advance AuthorisationDGFT proceduresCustoms clearanceICEGATEShipping BillsBills of EntryBL / AWBCommercial InvoicePacking ListCertificate of OriginExperience directly coordinating with CHA and freight forwarders.Good understanding of air and sea freight operations.Ability to independently troubleshoot customs, shipment and documentation issues.Good command of Excel, MIS and documentation management.Strong communication, coordination and follow-up skills.High attention to detail and accuracy.Strong sense of ownership and accountability.Ability to work across multiple departments and ensure shipment deadlines are met.Preferred Candidate ProfileWe are specifically looking for someone who has worked in a hands-on EXIM role and understands the complete shipment cycle—not someone whose experience is limited only to preparing documents.The candidate should be comfortable taking complete ownership of the function, interacting directly with logistics partners and government-related agencies, and reporting shipment and compliance status directly to management.Preferred IndustryGarment Export House / Apparel Manufacturing / Fashion Export / Textile Export / Accessories / Export-Oriented ManufacturingJob TypeFull-Time | Work From Office | Gurugram
