The company aims to be a global leader in language solutions, recognized for excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction.Role Description The Experienced Korean Medical Interpreter will provide accurate, confidential, and culturally appropriate interpretation between Korean and English for medical encounters in a remote, full-time capacity. Daily responsibilities include interpreting during OPI and VRI calls, facilitating communication between patients and healthcare professionals, and ensuring that medical information, consent, and treatment instructions are conveyed clearly and precisely. The role also involves occasional sight translation of medical documents, adherence to HIPAA and company protocols, and accurate documentation of interpreted sessions as required. The interpreter will collaborate with the LanguageBridge Solutions team, use the company’s IMS platform, and participate in ongoing training to maintain high professional standards and up-to-date medical terminology.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong Medical Interpretation and Interpreting skills, with demonstrated experience in clinical or healthcare settings.Candidates should possess expertise in Medical Terminology, particularly in Korean and English, and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.Candidates should possess proficiency in Translation of short medical-related texts, such as discharge instructions or patient education materials.Candidates should possess Simultaneous Interpretation skills for situations requiring rapid, real-time communication between medical staff and patients.Native or near-native fluency in Korean and English, with excellent listening, speaking, and reading comprehension in both languages.Thorough understanding of confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and professional interpreter ethics.Experience working with remote interpreting platforms (OPI/VRI) and basic technical proficiency with computers, headsets, and call systems.Strong interpersonal skills, cultural competence, and the ability to remain calm and professional in urgent or sensitive medical situations.Relevant certification or training in medical interpreting is preferred; prior experience with language service providers is a plus.Reliable internet connection and a quiet, secure workspace suitable for remote interpreting.
