About the RoleWe are seeking a highly accomplished Expert Virologist to provide scientific, technical, and strategic leadership for a virology laboratory within a leading reference center. The role will drive advanced research in zoonotic and emerging viral diseases, particularly in camel health, while establishing the organization as a regional and international hub for virology excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and implement strategic virology research programs targeting camel and emerging viral diseases (e.g., MERS-CoV).Oversee laboratory operations, workflows, SOPs, biosafety, and quality management systems.Drive vaccine and biologics development, including research, evaluation, and translational applications.Establish and manage monoclonal antibody development programs.Develop and maintain camel cell culture systems and repositories.Build partnerships, secure research funding, and disseminate scientific outputs.Lead capacity-building programs and support laboratory accreditation.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum RequirementsPhD in Virology, Veterinary Virology, or related field.Minimum 10 years of experience in virology research, vaccine or biologics development.At least 5 years in a scientific leadership or laboratory management role.Proven track record of publications, funding, and project leadership.Preferred QualificationsExperience with zoonotic diseases and camel health.Experience collaborating with international research organizations.Skills & CompetenciesLeadership & StrategyStrategic planning and program developmentTeam leadership and talent developmentTechnical ExpertiseAdvanced virology, immunology, and biologicsLaboratory management and research innovationCollaboration & CommunicationStakeholder engagement and partnership developmentScientific communication and publicationWhy Join UsLead cutting-edge research in emerging infectious diseasesShape a regional center of excellence in virologyWork within a high-impact, mission-driven scientific environment
