Apply & track with Apply EdgePosition SummaryThe FA & TS Supervisor (2nd Shift) is responsible for leading, supervising, and coordinating the daily operations of Failure Analysis (FA), Technical Troubleshooting (TS), and PCBA Repair teams within the RMA area for server manufacturing/repair operations. This role bridges administrative management and deep technical oversight, ensuring that engineers and technicians efficiently diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform component-level rework (including BGA, Miniwave, and fine-pitch soldering) on complex server PCBAs. The FA & TS Supervisor ensures strict compliance with turnaround time (TAT) targets, quality metrics, yield goals, safety standards, and inventory integrity during the shift.Key Responsibilities· Shift Supervision & Resource Allocation:o Direct, organize, and monitor second-shift activities for RMA Troubleshooting Engineers and Repair Technicians.o Assign daily workloads, manage headcount, and balance priorities based on backlog targets and operational Turnaround Time (TAT).o Conduct shift handovers to ensure seamless operational continuity between shifts.· Technical Guidance & Escalation:o Provide advanced technical leadership in failure analysis and diagnostic procedures on multi-layer server PCBAs.o Act as the primary technical escalation point for complex, intermittent, or repetitive failure modes.o Validate and approve scrap vs. repair disposition criteria for high-value components.· Rework & Process Oversight (BGA & Miniwave):o Oversee and validate complex rework processes, including BGA (Ball Grid Array) reballing/replacement, Miniwave selective soldering, and SMT/Through-Hole component replacement.o Ensure proper thermal profiling and calibration for BGA stations, Miniwave equipment, and specialized repair tools.· System & Data Tracking (ERP/SAP/MES):o Guarantee accurate and real-time data entry into internal systems (ERP/SAP/MES) regarding failure modes, root cause codes, serial numbers, movement transactions, and repair logs.· Yield Improvement & Quality Compliance:o Collaborate with Quality, Test, and Process Engineering to analyze recurring defect trends and drive root-cause corrective actions.o Enforce strict compliance with IPC soldering standards, ESD controls, safety guidelines, and 5S methodology across all repair stations and benches.· Administrative & Team Leadership:o Manage personnel administrative duties including shift attendance, overtime authorization, performance evaluations, and discipline.o Develop technical skills matrices and execute continuous training plans for repair engineers and technicians.Required Technical Skills & Qualifications· Technical Equipment Expertise: Advanced hands-on experience with diagnostic equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, functional test fixtures) and rework machinery (BGA rework stations, Miniwave soldering machines, hot-air stations, optical/X-Ray inspection tools).· Server PCBA Troubleshooting: Proven background in component-level troubleshooting, schematic reading, signal tracing, and repair of multi-layer enterprise server PCBAs.· Standards & Certifications: In-depth knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721 (Rework, Modification, and Repair of Electronic Assemblies), and ESD control guidelines.· ERP/SAP System Proficiency: Practical experience using ERP/MES software (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) for inventory tracking, work order disposition, and defect logging.· Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in RMA, FA, or PCBA repair operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role managing engineers and technical personnel.· Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel for reporting/KPIs, PowerPoint, Word). Soft Skills & Leadership Mindset· People Leadership: Proven ability to coach, mentor, and direct a high-performing technical team (Engineers & Technicians) on the shop floor.· Administrative Competence: Strong organizational ability to manage shift administrative tasks, attendance tracking, and executive reporting.· Problem-Solving & Urgency: Analytical approach to failure analysis coupled with a high sense of urgency to clear shop floor bottlenecks.· Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish to interact with cross-functional teams and upper management. 3. EducationBachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline (or equivalent extensive technical supervisory experience in server manufacturing/RMA)."Nice-to-Have" / Preferred Qualifications· Prior experience managing second-shift or off-shift operations.· Knowledge of Six Sigma methodology, Green Belt certification, or structured Root Cause Analysis tools (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone).· Experience in high-mix, high-complexity server manufacturing environments.
