Team members benefit from working in a structured, standards-driven environment with a strong focus on continuous improvement.Job PurposeThe Fabrication / Estimation Engineer shall be responsible for business development, estimation, quotation preparation, engineering, procurement, project planning, execution, supervision, QA/QC, customer coordination and project closure.The primary responsibility shall be Mechanical and Fabrication projects. Based on business requirements, the employee shall also manage maintenance and shutdown projects involving Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Civil works to support the company's business objectives.Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop new business opportunities and maintain relationships with existing and potential customers, contractors, consultants and suppliers.Have good knowledge of the Abu Dhabi industrial and construction market, particularly Oil & Gas, EPC, fabrication, maintenance and shutdown sectors.Identify upcoming projects, tenders and enquiries and actively follow up with customers for business opportunities.Understand prevailing market rates, customer requirements, competition, suppliers and subcontractors in the Abu Dhabi market.Review drawings, specifications, BOQs and scope of work and prepare accurate quantity take-offs, MTOs and project estimates.Estimate material, manpower, fabrication, welding, erection, equipment, consumables, testing, painting and other project costs.Obtain and evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations and prepare competitive technical and commercial quotations.Submit quotations on time and follow up with customers for clarifications, negotiations, LPOs and project awards.Prepare and modify AutoCAD GA, fabrication, shop, layout, detail and as-built drawings as required.Plan and coordinate project activities, including manpower, materials, equipment, procurement and resources.Supervise and coordinate fabrication, welding, erection, installation, maintenance and shutdown activities.Coordinate with foremen, supervisors, welders, fabricators, fitters, technicians and other site personnel.Monitor project progress, productivity, manpower utilization, material consumption, quality and project costs.Coordinate procurement and ensure timely availability of materials, consumables, tools and equipment.Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections and testing, including fit-up, welding inspection, dimensional inspection, NDT, painting, hydrotesting and other applicable tests.Ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, applicable standards, safety requirements and client requirements.Coordinate with clients and consultants for meetings, inspections, approvals, technical clarifications and site requirements.Plan and manage maintenance and shutdown projects, including Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation and Civil works as required.Prepare progress reports, technical reports, inspection records, completion reports, as-built drawings and handover documents.Verify completed quantities and support preparation of variation claims, final measurements and invoices.Coordinate with commercial/accounts teams for project cost review, profitability and technical and financial closure.Support management in achieving customer satisfaction, project profitability, timely completion and repeat business.Perform other duties related to the position as assigned by management according to business requirements.Qualifications & SkillsDegree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical qualification.Experience in Mechanical Fabrication, Structural Steel, Piping, Welding, Erection and Maintenance.Strong knowledge of estimation, costing, MTO, quantity take-off and quotation preparation.Proficiency in AutoCAD and fabrication/shop drawing preparation.Good knowledge of fabrication, welding, inspection, NDT, painting, testing and hydrotesting.Good project planning, manpower planning, procurement and site supervision skills.Strong knowledge of the Abu Dhabi market and industrial project environment.Knowledge of ADNOC-related projects, local client requirements, tendering, contractor/supplier networks and ICV will be an advantage.Strong customer coordination, business development, negotiation and follow-up skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure and tight deadlines.Exposure to Electrical, Instrumentation and Civil works will be an added advantage.
