Join a results-driven environment where your expertise contributes directly to landmark developments across the UAE.The Facade Senior Structural Engineer leads the structural design, analysis, and engineering validation for complex architectural envelope systems, including unitized curtain walls, stick systems, structural glass, aluminum cladding, skylights, and tension structures. This senior role ensures all facade designs are structurally sound, cost-effective, and fully compliant with UAE Fire and Life Safety Codes, international building standards (BS, EN, ASTM), and project-specific performance criteria.Key ResponsibilitiesStructural Analysis & Calculations: Perform advanced structural analysis for wind loads, dead loads, seismic activity, thermal movements, and blast/impact requirements across aluminum profiles, glass panes, steel supports, and fixings.System Optimization: Work closely with the Senior Facade Designers and Technical Manager to engineer efficient structural profiles, custom extrusions, brackets, and anchorages without compromising architectural design intent.Testing & Compliance: Define testing criteria and oversee performance mock-up (PMU) testing for air permeability, water tightness, structural wind resistance, and seismic performance at certified laboratories.Engineering Deliverables: Prepare, review, and stamp complete structural calculation packages, method statements, and technical submittals for client, consultant, and third-party authority approval (e.g., Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence).Value Engineering & Cost Control: Evaluate structural design alternatives to optimize material usage (aluminum tonnage, steel framing, glass thickness) to improve margins while retaining structural integrity.Site & Factory Support: Resolve complex structural site queries (RFIs), non-conformance reports (NCRs), anchor pull-out test validations, and dynamic movement adjustments during fabrication and erection.Mentorship: Guide and review the technical work of junior and mid-level structural engineers and facade draftsmen.Required Qualifications & ExperienceEducation: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Facade Engineering from an accredited university.Experience: 8–12+ years of progressive structural engineering experience, with at least 5 years dedicated strictly to building envelope and facade systems within the GCC region.Industry Background: Direct experience with leading facade contractors, aluminum fabricators, or specialist facade engineering consultancies in the UAE.Regulatory Knowledge: Deep mastery of regional codes (Dubai Building Code, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code) and international standards (ASCE 7, BS 8118, EN 13830, ASTM, Eurocodes).Technical Skills & Software Proficiency:Structural AnalysisSTAAD.Pro, Strand7, ANSYS, ETABS, SAP2000, RAM ElementsGlass EngineeringSJ MEPLA, SLAB, MEPLA (Non-linear glass stress analysis)Thermal & Finite ElementTHERM, WINDOW, LBNL software packagesDrafting & CoordinationAutoCAD 2D/3D, Navisworks, Revit (BIM coordination)Specialized SkillsNon-linear structural dynamics, finite element analysis (FEA), connection design, silicone structural glazing (SSG) joint mechanicsKey CompetenciesStrong analytical capabilities with high precision in finite element calculations.Proven track record of securing authority and consultant approvals on high-rise, iconic GCC building developments.Strong leadership, technical communication, and interdisciplinary problem-solving skills.
