ERDC manages the pre-approval stage of the UAE R&D Tax Credit, evaluating applications against criteria for Qualifying R&D Activities and Qualifying R&D Expenditure, and works with public and private stakeholders to strengthen the national innovation ecosystem.The Role You will own the day-to-day running of ERDC's workplace — from building operations and maintenance to the general services that keep the office functioning well for everyone in it.What you'll doOversee daily building operations, preventive maintenance schedules, and repairs across ERDC facilitiesManage vendors and service contracts across soft services (cleaning, catering, security, transport) and hard services (MEP, HVAC, civil), monitoring SLA performanceOwn facility and general services budgets, track expenditure, and support procurementDeliver general services: reception and visitor management, mail and courier, office supplies and pantry, housekeeping, transport coordination, and access controlSupport meetings, events, and delegation visits, including hospitality and logisticsImplement energy management and sustainability practices across building systemsHandle incident reporting, workplace safety initiatives, and space planningCoordinate with landlords, building management, and government authorities on permits, approvals, and fit-out worksMaintain fixed asset tagging and inventory controlWhat you'll bringBachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field — or equivalent practical experienceExperience in facilities, property, or workplace management within corporate, government, or research environmentsWorking knowledge of FM and building management, preventive maintenance, and HSE complianceBudgeting and cost control experienceFamiliarity with energy management and building efficiency practicesStrong organizational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple prioritiesProficiency in facilities management software and MS OfficeArabic and English proficiency, with the ability to correspond with authorities and service providers in bothWorking knowledge of UAE building codes, civil defence requirements, and environmental regulations is an advantageWhy ERDCYou'll be joining a newly established federal entity at the centre of the UAE's R&D agenda — with the scope to build workplace operations from the ground up rather than inherit them.
