Facilities Manager

Position: Facility ManagerDepartment: Administration & Campus OperationsLocation: REVA University, BengaluruReporting To: Pro VC- AdministrationJob SummaryThe Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance, operations, safety, and infrastructure management of the university campus. The role ensures a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment that supports academic, administrative, residential, and recreational activities. The incumbent will manage facility operations, vendor services, statutory compliance, and infrastructure development projects while ensuring optimal utilization of resources.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the maintenance and operation of all campus buildings, utilities, equipment, and infrastructure.Manage civil, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and landscaping services across the university.Ensure uninterrupted functioning of utilities including power, water supply, sewage systems, DG sets, elevators, and other critical infrastructure.Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.Supervise housekeeping, security, transport, and facility service providers to ensure service excellence.Manage annual maintenance contracts (AMCs), vendor selection, negotiations, and performance monitoring.Ensure compliance with statutory regulations related to safety, fire, environmental, and building standards.Lead campus safety initiatives, emergency preparedness plans, and risk management activities.Monitor facility budgets, operational expenditures, and resource optimization initiatives.Coordinate infrastructure expansion, renovation, and refurbishment projects.Maintain facility records, compliance documentation, inspection reports, and asset inventories.Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to address facility requirements and improve campus experience.Educational QualificationBachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil/Electrical/Mechanical) or related discipline.Master's Degree/MBA in Operations, Facility Management, or Project Management is preferred.ExperienceMinimum 10 years of overall experience in facilities management, infrastructure operations, or campus administration.At least 5 years in a managerial role within a university, educational institution, corporate campus, hospital, or large-scale facility.Experience in handling large campuses, multiple service vendors, and infrastructure projects is preferred.Key Skills & CompetenciesFacility, infrastructure, and project management expertise.Vendor, contract, and stakeholder management skills.Budgeting, cost control, and resource optimization capabilities.Strong knowledge of safety, statutory compliance, and risk management.Go-getter, strong communication skills, problem-solving, and crisis management abilities with a safety & Security-centric approach.
