Facilities Manager – Data Centre Operations & ProjectsToronto, OntarioSalary – circa $115K + benefitsAbout the Organization:A leading provider of integrated facilities and operational services is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to support the delivery of critical infrastructure operations within a highly technical, mission-critical environment.The organization supports complex facilities where reliability, safety, operational continuity, and technical performance are essential. The successful candidate will join an established team responsible for maintaining high standards across building systems, infrastructure, maintenance programs, vendors, and operational projects.Position Overview:The Facilities Manager will take responsibility for the effective day-to-day operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of critical facilities infrastructure.This is a hands-on leadership position combining facilities operations, technical maintenance, project coordination, vendor management, compliance, budgeting, and stakeholder engagement.The successful candidate will be comfortable operating within a high-availability environment where preventative maintenance, risk management, emergency preparedness, and operational resilience are key priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities Operations & MaintenanceOversee day-to-day facilities operations across a critical infrastructure environmentDevelop, implement, and continuously improve preventative and planned maintenance programsEnsure building systems, equipment, and infrastructure are maintained to a high standardApply effective planning and scheduling processes to maximize reliability and operational performanceConduct regular inspections and identify potential operational or maintenance risksEnsure appropriate procedures are in place for emergency response, business continuity, and disaster recoveryTechnical & Project ManagementCoordinate facilities-related projects, upgrades, improvements, and infrastructure initiativesManage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery against agreed timelines, budgets, and quality standardsWork closely with internal stakeholders and technical specialists to coordinate project activityIdentify opportunities to improve facility efficiency, reliability, sustainability, and operational performanceSupport the implementation of new processes, technologies, and operational improvementsVendor & Contractor ManagementManage relationships with external service providers, contractors, and technical suppliersEnsure contracted services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with agreed standardsMonitor contractor performance, service quality, compliance, and commercial effectivenessSupport contract negotiations, service reviews, and supplier performance managementCompliance, Risk & SafetyEnsure facilities operations comply with applicable legislation, codes, policies, and industry standardsMaintain a strong focus on health, safety, security, and operational risk managementIdentify potential operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategiesMaintain accurate operational documentation, procedures, records, and reportingSupport audits, inspections, emergency exercises, and compliance initiativesFinancial & Operational ManagementDevelop and manage operational budgets and monitor expenditureIdentify opportunities to improve cost efficiency without compromising service reliabilityMonitor operational performance and prepare regular reports for senior stakeholdersMaintain appropriate asset management and lifecycle planning processesContribute to longer-term operational and capital planning initiativesTeam & Stakeholder LeadershipLead, support, and develop facilities and technical personnelEstablish clear expectations around performance, safety, service delivery, and operational standardsWork collaboratively with technical, project, finance, IT, and other business stakeholdersMaintain effective relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and senior managementCandidate ProfileBachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Facilities Management, Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline preferred5+ years of experience within facilities management, critical infrastructure, data centre operations, engineering services, or a similarly complex technical environmentStrong understanding of facilities operations, maintenance strategies, and technical building systemsExperience managing projects, upgrades, or infrastructure improvement initiativesProven experience managing contractors, vendors, and external service providersStrong understanding of health & safety, compliance, risk management, and emergency preparednessExperience managing budgets, operational expenditure, and supplier performanceStrong leadership and people-management capabilitiesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsHighly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesWhat’s on OfferCompetitive salary of circa $115K plus benefitsOpportunity to work within a highly technical and mission-critical environmentResponsibility for complex facilities operations and infrastructure projectsExposure to sophisticated technical systems, operational improvement, and asset management Opportunity to work with experienced technical and operational teamsLong-term career development within a growing facilities and infrastructure environment
