Job Title: Facility Engineer / Facility Supervisor Job SummaryThe Facility Engineer / Facility Supervisor is responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, safety, and overall condition of the facility and its building services.

The role involves supervising preventive and corrective maintenance activities, coordinating technicians and contractors, monitoring facility systems, ensuring compliance with safety requirements, and responding promptly to operational issues.Key ResponsibilitiesFacility OperationsMonitor the day-to-day operation and condition of the facility, equipment, and building services.Ensure all facility systems are operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.Conduct regular inspections of buildings, plant rooms, equipment, and common areas.Identify operational issues, defects, and potential maintenance requirements.Coordinate corrective actions and ensure timely resolution of facility-related problems. Engineering & MaintenanceSupervise preventive and corrective maintenance of:HVAC and air-conditioning systemsElectrical systems and distribution boardsPlumbing and drainage systemsFire alarm and fire-fighting systemsPumps, motors, and other mechanical equipmentBuilding management systems (BMS), where applicableLighting and general building servicesPrepare and follow preventive maintenance schedules.Review maintenance work orders and ensure jobs are completed within required timelines.Maintain records of equipment inspections, maintenance activities, breakdowns, and repairs.Assist with troubleshooting equipment failures and technical issues. Team & Contractor SupervisionSupervise technicians, maintenance staff, and service providers.Allocate daily tasks and monitor work progress and quality.Coordinate with external contractors and specialist service providers.Verify completed work and ensure contractors comply with site requirements.Monitor contractor performance and report recurring issues to management. Health, Safety & ComplianceEnsure maintenance and facility activities are carried out in accordance with company safety procedures.Conduct routine safety inspections and report unsafe conditions.Ensure proper use of PPE, tools, and equipment.Support emergency response, evacuation, and incident-management procedures.Maintain required inspection and compliance records.Ensure statutory inspections and certifications are completed as required. Documentation & ReportingMaintain accurate maintenance logs, checklists, equipment records, and service reports.Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly facility reports.Track breakdowns, pending maintenance activities, and recurring faults.Assist with maintenance budgets, quotations, material requirements, and purchase requests.Maintain an updated asset register and equipment history. Customer & Stakeholder CoordinationRespond to facility-related complaints and service requests.Coordinate with tenants, employees, clients, and other stakeholders regarding maintenance activities.Communicate planned shutdowns, maintenance works, and service interruptions.Escalate major technical or operational issues to the Facilities Manager. RequirementsDiploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.Relevant experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or engineering operations.Good knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and general building systems.Experience supervising technicians and contractors.Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and equipment documentation.Good communication, coordination, and reporting skills.Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
