This includes leading milk processing, packaging lines, quality assurance, utility management, inventory control, and workforce planning. The ideal candidate ensures maximum production efficiency, strict compliance with food safety and regulatory laws, and the optimization of operational costs.Key Responsibilities and Duties1. Production & Operational ManagementOversee daily plant operations from raw milk collection, chilling, pasteurization, separation, and homogenization to final product packaging (milk, curd, paneer, butter, etc.).Develop and execute production schedules to meet sales demands while minimizing wastage and downtime.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as milk yield efficiency, utility consumption (power, water, steam), and product loss ratios.Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles.2. Quality Assurance, Food Safety & SanitationEnforce stringent compliance with food safety management systems, such as HACCP, ISO, GMP, and regional statutory regulations.Oversee routine sanitation programs, including Cleaning-in-Place (CIP) and Cleaning-out-of-Place (COP) validation for pipelines, storage silos, and processing units.Collaborate closely with the Quality Control (QC) laboratory to ensure raw milk and finished goods meet chemical, microbiological, and organoleptic standards.3. Plant Maintenance & EngineeringDirect preventive and breakdown maintenance schedules for all critical dairy machinery (homogenizers, pasteurizers, boilers, chillers, refrigeration compressors, and packaging machines).Coordinate with the engineering team to reduce machine downtime and extend equipment lifecycle.4. Supply Chain, Inventory & Cost ControlManage raw material inventories (packaging materials, chemicals, ingredients) and finished goods stock to prevent shortages or spoilage.Monitor operational budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and control utility and labor expenses without compromising product quality.5. Team Leadership & Safety ComplianceLead, mentor, and evaluate shift supervisors, production operators, and technical personnel.Conduct regular training sessions on plant safety, hygiene protocols, and operational updates.Ensure all workers strictly adhere to occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines and use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Qualifications & RequirementsEducation:Bachelor’s degree or Postgraduate degree in Dairy Technology, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or Dairy Science.Experience:Minimum 8 to 12 years of progressive experience in a commercial dairy processing plant or liquid food manufacturing industry, with at least 3–5 years in a plant leadership or factory head capacity.Core Competencies & Skills:Comprehensive technical knowledge of milk processing physics, dairy chemistry, and microbiology.Hands-on familiarity with automated PLC-based SCADA systems and modern dairy machinery.Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and administrative abilities.Sound understanding of statutory compliance, environmental regulations, and safety audit standards.Working ConditionsCombination of office environment and active manufacturing plant floor (including cold storage and wet areas).Required to wear standardized plant hygiene gear and follow strict bio-security
