About the RoleThis role teaches and develops curriculum for Applied Mathematics and Physics. The faculty member supports OBE, ABET, and CAA accreditation, conducts computational modelling research, and mentors’ students through labs, capstones, and academic advising.ResponsibilitiesTeaching & InstructionTeach:Applied MathematicsPhysics for Naval ApplicationsPrepare course specs, CLO mapping, assessments, rubrics.Develop simulation-supported instruction using MATLAB, Python, and naval datasets.Maintain lab materials and e-learning content.Research & ModellingConduct research in:Oceanographic predictive modellingHydrodynamics and ship–ocean interactionsOptimization and vessel routing modelsMaritime sensor physicsPublish in Scopus-indexed outlets.Supervise research- and modelling-based capstones.Accreditation & CurriculumSupport ABET/CAA evidence, SSR writing, and KPI monitoring.Contribute to curriculum review, benchmarking, and OBE compliance.Service & CollaborationAcademic advising and mentoring.Participation in committees and interdisciplinary marine/engineering teams.Support student competitions involving modelling/physics challenges.QualificationsRequiredPhD in Applied Mathematics, Physics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Naval Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related.University-level teaching experience.Experience with MATLAB/Python and computational modelling.PreferredNaval or maritime operational background.Research in hydrodynamics, sensor physics, ocean/environmental modelling.Scopus-indexed publication record.
