1. POSITION OBJECTIVE & PROGRAMMEDeliver, assess, and continuously enhance undergraduate Arabic Language, Literature, and Linguistics modules within the Bachelor of Naval Science programme (CAA-accredited — Naval Science), combining high-quality teaching with academic advising and, where research-active, scholarly contribution.2. ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONSMinimum Qualification: 10+ years' experience holding a Master's, or 5+ years post-PhD, in Arabic Language, Literature, Linguistics, Translation, or a closely related disciplinePreferred Qualification: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D., Ed.D., or equivalent)Teaching Qualification: FHEA (preferred), or to be obtained within 3 years of joiningResearch Qualification: demonstrated research capability with peer-reviewed publications and active scholarly engagementProfessional Membership: membership of at least one recognised international body relevant to Arabic language, literature, or language teachingOverseas qualifications must be equivalized and / or attested by competent authorities in UAE MOHE before appointment3. SKILLS & EXPERIENCEHigher-education teaching experience as above (10+ yrs Master's / 5+ yrs post-PhD) in a relevant discipline.Strong record of teaching, curriculum design, and course/module leadership within a CAA-accredited or internationally accredited programmeAcademic advising and student pastoral support at undergraduate levelDeep subject-matter expertise in Arabic Language at an internationally recognised standardResearch methodology proficiency — qualitative / quantitative / mixed methodsLMS proficiency (Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas, or equivalent) for blended and online deliveryAssessment design — formative and summative, including rubric development and grade moderation.Experience in the UAE/GCC — culturally diverse learner environmentExperience contributing to CAA accreditation processes, external examining, or peer review4. LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTSENGLISH - Business (written & spoken) — Essential, primary language of instruction & documentationARABIC - Fluent (written & spoken) — Mandatory5. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESTeaching & Learning Delivery•Design, deliver, and assess Arabic Language / Literature / Linguistics modules at undergraduate level in compliance with CAA contact-hour requirements•Facilitate engaging, inclusive, outcome-focused learning using varied pedagogical methods (in-person, online, blended, problem-based)•Prepare session plans, teaching materials, assessments, and rubrics aligned to Programme Learning OutcomesCurriculum & Assessment Design•Contribute to curriculum design, module development, and annual programme review aligned to CAA Standards•Design, administer, and moderate assessments ensuring validity, reliability, and alignment with learning outcomes•Participate in assessment boards, moderation panels, and academic quality assurance processesAcademic Governance & CAA Compliance•Contribute to Annual Programme Reports and Self-Study Reports for CAA accreditation and institutional reporting•Maintain accurate student records in compliance with institutional and CAA requirementsAcademic Advising & Student Support•Provide academic advising and mentoring to assigned students during office hours•Monitor student progress, identify at-risk learners, and refer to appropriate support servicesResearch, Scholarship & Continuing Professional Development•Where research-active: conduct high-quality research, publish in peer-reviewed journals, and present scholarly work•Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain current, discipline-relevant teaching practice
