Faculty - German language

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Faculty – German Language role based at Amity University in the Greater Kolkata Area. The faculty member will teach German language courses at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels, design and deliver lesson plans, and develop curricula aligned with institutional standards and learner needs. Responsibilities include assessing student performance, providing constructive feedback, and supporting learners through office hours, mentoring, and academic advising. The role also involves preparing teaching materials, integrating technology into instruction, and contributing to departmental activities such as examinations, student events, and quality assurance processes. Participation in professional development, research or scholarly activities in language education, and collaboration with colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives is encouraged.QualificationsStrong German language proficiency, with the ability to teach reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills across levels.Proven classroom teaching, lesson planning, and curriculum development skills in modern language or related disciplines.Experience in student assessment, academic mentoring, and providing inclusive, learner-centered support.Ability to use digital tools and learning management systems to enhance language teaching and student engagement.Master’s degree or higher in German, German Studies, Linguistics, or a closely related field; relevant certificationsStrong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to diversity, equity, and respectful learning environments.Interest in research, publications, or academic projects in language pedagogy, intercultural studies, or related areas is beneficial.Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and alignment with Amity University’s focus on values-based education and holistic development.
