Located in Metro Vancouver—one of the most diverse Chinese diaspora communities in North America—CCST Vancouver serves Cantonese-, Mandarin-, and English-speaking churches through theological education, leadership formation, research, and lifelong learning.As we look toward the future, we are reimagining theological education to serve the changing needs of Chinese Canadian churches. We seek faculty members who are excellent teachers and scholars who love the church, and collaborative leaders who are passionate about shaping the future of theological education.The OpportunityCCST Vancouver invites applications for full-time faculty positions with a primary focus in biblical studies (New Testament or Old Testament), systematic or practical theology, and ability to teach in a secondary discipline in Christian ministry subjects.In addition to teaching and scholarship, all faculty members will participate in the academic leadership of the seminary through service on the Educational Leadership Team. Depending on experience, gifts, and institutional needs, faculty members may be appointed to one of the following leadership portfolios:Lifelong Learning & Next Gen Centre: Lead pastoral continuing education and lay initiatives, church partnerships, and accessible models of theological education.Research & Program Development: Provide leadership for research initiatives and grant development that lead to educational program innovation.Distributed Learning/ Online Education: Develop accessible and scalable models of distributed theological education in partnership with local churches or ministry organizations.Faculty ResponsibilitiesFaculty members are expected to:Teach master’s and doctoral level courses in the faculty’s area of specialty.Mentor and advise students in their academic, spiritual, and vocational formation.Engage in scholarly research and publication.Participate in curriculum development and assessment.Contribute to faculty governance and institutional planning.Serve the church through teaching, speaking, consulting, and community engagement.Support the mission and strategic development of CCST Vancouver.QualificationsQualified candidates will demonstrate:Commitment to evangelical Christian faith and the mission of CCST Vancouver.A passion for mentoring students and serving the church.An earned doctoral degree in systematic or practical theology, biblical studies (Old or New Testament), (PhD preferred; ThD, DMin, or equivalent may be considered depending on the discipline).Demonstrated excellence in teaching in multiple modalities (face to face, hybrid and online)Demonstrated excellence in scholarship that reaches both the academic and general audiences.Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural and trilingual learning community.Experience in curriculum development, educational innovation, research, or church leadership is highly desirable.Written and Spoken Mandarin and English fluency are required; Cantonese is highly desirable.Candidates should also demonstrate leadership and administrative skills in the following areas:Strategic thinking and collaborative leadership.Ability to lead organizational initiatives.Ability to apply theological reflection to present day church or world issues.Experience in building partnerships with churches or Christian organizations.Interest in shaping the future of theological education within the Chinese Canadian context.Why Join CCST Vancouver?This is a unique opportunity to join a collaborative faculty community that is actively reimagining theological education for the Chinese churches in Canada.Faculty members are encouraged to contribute not only through teaching and scholarship, but also through shared leadership that advances innovation, student formation, church engagement, and institutional sustainability.Together, we seek to cultivate a learning community that forms faithful disciples, theological thinkers, servant leaders, and lifelong learners for the church and the world.CompensationSalary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and will be determined in accordance with the Faculty Handbook guidelines and salary scale approved by the CCST Vancouver board.Application ProcessApplicants should submit:Curriculum VitaeCover LetterStatement of Faith and Personal TestimonyStatement of Teaching Philosophy and research InterestsA brief statement describing how you envision contributing to the future of Chinese theological education and indicating any Academic Leadership Portfolio(s) for which you believe your gifts and experience are particularly suited.Three referencesPlease email: jobs@ccstvan.ca Applications will be reviewed until the positions are filled.
