Our purpose is to empower people to live healthier, longer, and more fulfilling lives through evidence-based medicine, prevention, compassion, and innovation.We are building a multidisciplinary Center of Excellence where collaboration replaces silos, prevention complements treatment, and every team member contributes to improving the lives of our patients, colleagues, and community.We are seeking clinicians who combine clinical excellence with integrity, humility, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of others — while helping shape the future of Brain Health and Lifestyle Medicine in the United Arab Emirates and beyond.PositionSpecialist / Consultant Family Medicine PhysicianFull TimeKey Requirements• Post-specialisation clinical experience in Family Medicine appropriate to the level of appointment (Specialist or Consultant), in accordance with applicable DOH Abu Dhabi licensing requirements• Experience in multidisciplinary outpatient practice, preventive healthcare, chronic disease management, and private healthcare is highly desirable• Eligible for or currently holding a valid Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi Specialist or Consultant Family Medicine license• MD/MBBS with recognised postgraduate specialist qualifications in Family Medicine from an accredited institution meeting DOH Abu Dhabi licensing requirements• Proficiency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is preferredClinical ExpertiseThe successful candidate will demonstrate extensive experience in comprehensive, longitudinal, and patient-centred Family Medicine in an outpatient setting — delivering safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care with a strong emphasis on prevention, early risk identification, and long-term health optimisation.This includes (but is not limited to):• Preventive health assessments, evidence-based screening, and health promotion• Diagnosis and management of common acute and chronic medical conditions• Cardiovascular risk assessment, hypertension, and dyslipidaemia management• Diabetes, obesity, insulin resistance, and metabolic health management• Lifestyle Medicine, including nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress, and behavioural risk factors• Smoking cessation and other evidence-based risk-reduction interventions• Age-appropriate health checks, cancer screening, and vaccination counselling• Early identification and initial management of common mental health concerns (with appropriate referral)• Management of multimorbidity and coordination of care across specialties• Medication review, adherence support, and rational prescribing• Women’s and men’s health within the scope of outpatient Family Medicine• Patient education, shared decision-making, and sustained engagement in long-term health goalsStrong competence in preventive healthcare and risk-factor modification is essential. Experience in Lifestyle Medicine, obesity and metabolic health, preventive medicine, structured health screening programmes, and chronic disease management is highly desirable.The ideal candidate recognises the important relationship between cardiovascular, metabolic, psychological, sleep, and lifestyle factors and long-term brain and cognitive health.Within Synergy’s multidisciplinary model, the Family Medicine physician plays a central role in prevention, continuity of care, and early identification of modifiable health risks — collaborating closely with Neurology, Psychiatry, Psychology, Dietetics, Physical and Occupational Therapy, and other allied healthcare professionals.A genuine interest in brain health, lifestyle medicine, healthy ageing, and evidence-based preventive care will be viewed favourably.Teamwork & CollaborationAbility to work effectively within multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary models of care. Active contribution to joint case discussions, clinical decision-making, and integrated treatment planning — always placing the patient’s best interests at the centre.Communication & Patient CareExceptional communication and consultation skills, effective motivational interviewing, and the ability to build meaningful therapeutic relationships founded on trust, empathy, and respect.
