Apply & track with Apply EdgePOSITION SUMMARYProvide direct primary care at Hidalgo Medical Services. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Provide clinical leadership in clinic operation. Supervise and teach medical students, and other professional students and/or residents as opportunity allows, in patient care and community health. Administer clinical aspects of HMS services/work with community agencies and other provider groups in developing integrated service delivery system in Hidalgo County/Grant County. Supervise and work with HMS Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and clinical support staff.Providers may on occasion visit patients in their home, including nursing home as necessary for primary care purposes. Supervise and teach medical students, other health sciences centers students and residents in patient care and community health. The position of Physician requires compliance with Hidalgo Medical Services written standards, including its Compliance Program and Standards of Conduct and policies and procedures. Such compliance will be an element considered as part of the regular performance evaluation. Failure to comply with Hidalgo Medical Services Written Standards, which may include the failure to report any conduct or event that potentially violates legal or compliance requirements or Hidalgo Medical Services Written Standards, will be met by the enforcement of disciplinary action, up to and including possible termination of employment, in accordance with Hidalgo Medical Services Compliance Program Policy and Procedure Supervise and teach medical students, other health sciences center students and residents in patient care and community health. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Graduation from an accredited medical school Licensed to practice medicine in New Mexico Current BLS or equivalent certification or must obtain BLS or equivalent certification within 90 days of employment Evidence of continuing education necessary to maintain licensure DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONSBoard Eligible or Board Certified in a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.Experience in serving underserved populations and rural areas Administrative experience Experience in community health Fluent in English and Spanish, both written and oral preferred
