The role focuses on maximizing productivity, maintaining quality and safety standards, managing resources efficiently, and supporting sustainable agricultural practices.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, coordinate, and oversee daily farm operations and agricultural activities.Manage crop production, livestock operations, or integrated farming activities according to farm requirements.Develop planting, harvesting, feeding, breeding, irrigation, fertilization, and production schedules.Monitor crop growth, soil conditions, livestock health, environmental conditions, and production performance.Coordinate land preparation, planting, cultivation, harvesting, storage, and post-harvest activities.Manage farm employees, seasonal workers, contractors, and field teams.Assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, provide guidance, and maintain workplace discipline and safety.Manage agricultural machinery, vehicles, tools, irrigation systems, buildings, and farm equipment.Schedule preventive maintenance and arrange repairs for machinery and operational equipment.Monitor the use of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, animal feed, veterinary supplies, fuel, water, and other resources.Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, labor, equipment, expenses, inputs, yields, and farm activities.Develop and monitor farm budgets, operating costs, procurement requirements, and resource allocation.Coordinate purchasing of agricultural supplies, equipment, materials, and services.Work with agricultural suppliers, contractors, veterinarians, agronomists, distributors, and other service providers.Implement effective pest, disease, weed, soil, irrigation, and crop-management programs.Monitor livestock welfare, feeding programs, breeding activities, health conditions, and veterinary requirements where applicable.Ensure agricultural products meet established quality, safety, grading, and customer requirements.Coordinate harvesting, packing, storage, transportation, and delivery of agricultural products.Monitor weather conditions, market trends, production risks, and seasonal requirements.Implement sustainable farming practices, water conservation, soil management, waste reduction, and environmentally responsible methods.Ensure compliance with agricultural, environmental, occupational health, food-safety, and animal-welfare requirements where applicable.Conduct farm inspections and identify operational, environmental, safety, or production issues.Analyze production data, yields, costs, resource consumption, and operational performance.Prepare farm reports, production forecasts, budgets, inventory reports, and management updates.Use farm-management software, GPS systems, agricultural sensors, drones, automation, precision-agriculture technologies, and data analytics where appropriate.Evaluate new farming technologies, equipment, crop varieties, production methods, and automation opportunities.Develop contingency plans for weather events, pest outbreaks, equipment failures, supply disruptions, and other agricultural risks.Identify opportunities to improve productivity, product quality, resource efficiency, profitability, and sustainability.Maintain strong relationships with employees, suppliers, customers, contractors, agricultural specialists, and other stakeholders.QualificationsBachelor's degree or diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Animal Science, Agricultural Management, Farm Management, or a related field.Strong knowledge of agricultural production, farm operations, crop management, livestock management, or related farming practices.Understanding of soil management, irrigation, fertilizers, pest control, crop protection, harvesting, and agricultural equipment.Knowledge of livestock nutrition, health, breeding, and welfare is advantageous for livestock operations.Strong leadership, personnel-management, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to plan and coordinate multiple agricultural activities and operational priorities.Strong understanding of farm budgeting, procurement, inventory control, and cost management.Knowledge of agricultural health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities.Familiarity with farm-management software, GPS, precision agriculture, IoT sensors, drones, automation, and agricultural data analytics is advantageous.Ability to operate and manage agricultural machinery and equipment safely.Strong record-keeping, reporting, and documentation skills.Ability to work effectively with agricultural suppliers, contractors, specialists, employees, customers, and external stakeholders.Strong commitment to sustainability, resource efficiency, product quality, and operational safety.High level of responsibility, adaptability, leadership, and commitment to successful farm operations.
