Position OverviewA private family in Riyadh is seeking an experienced and highly capable Female English Teacher to provide full-time academic support to a student studying at Key Stages 3 and 4.The successful candidate will deliver personalised, structured, and engaging English tuition aligned with the British curriculum. The role will focus on strengthening the student's subject knowledge, developing confidence and independence, and preparing them effectively for GCSE or IGCSE examinations.This is a discreet private appointment requiring a professional, adaptable, and student-centred educator who can work collaboratively with the family and respond to the student's changing academic needs.Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for:Planning and delivering high-quality one-to-one English lessonsTeaching English Language and Literature at KS3 and KS4 levelSupporting the student with reading, writing, analysis, grammar, vocabulary, and examination techniquePreparing the student for relevant GCSE or IGCSE assessmentsAssessing progress regularly and adapting teaching strategies accordinglyIdentifying areas of weakness and creating targeted intervention plansDeveloping the student's confidence, motivation, organisation, and independent study skillsSetting appropriate assignments, revision tasks, and extension workMaintaining accurate records of lesson content, progress, attainment, and future objectivesCommunicating professionally with the family regarding academic development and prioritiesWorking alongside other educators, tutors, schools, or educational advisers where requiredSupporting continuity of learning during school holidays, examination periods, and family travelMaintaining a calm, respectful, and encouraging learning environment at all timesCandidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will be an experienced English teacher with a strong understanding of the British curriculum and a proven record of supporting students through KS3 and KS4.Applicants should demonstrate:Strong subject knowledge in English Language and LiteratureExperience teaching or tutoring students aged approximately 11-16Familiarity with GCSE and/or IGCSE specificationsA clear understanding of assessment objectives and examination requirementsThe ability to tailor lessons to an individual student's learning style and academic profileExcellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skillsA warm, patient, and encouraging teaching mannerThe confidence to work independently within a private householdProfessional maturity, discretion, and sound judgementA flexible and collaborative approach to working with the family and wider educational teamA female teacher is required for this appointmentQualifications And ExperienceApplicants should ideally hold:A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE, or an equivalent credentialA degree in English, Education, or a related subjectSeveral years of relevant teaching or private tutoring experienceExperience preparing students for GCSE or IGCSE English examinationsKnowledge of one or more British examination boardsA strong record of academic progress and positive professional referencesExperience working with high-profile, VVIP, royal, diplomatic, or international families would be advantageous but is not essentialWorking ArrangementsThis is a full-time private teaching position based in Riyadh.The Teacher will be expected to provide consistent academic support around the student's school commitments while remaining responsive to the family's schedule and the student's educational requirements.The role may involve adjustments to the usual timetable during:Examination and revision periodsSchool holidaysAcademic transition periodsFamily travelTimes when additional tuition or supervision is requiredExact working hours, weekly schedules, rest days, and other employment arrangements will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.The successful applicant must be comfortable working in a private family environment and adapting to the requirements of a full-time residential or non-residential appointment, as applicable.Travel and ConfidentialityThe position will be based primarily in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.Occasional domestic or international travel may be required to maintain continuity of the student's education.
