Job PurposeThe Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and organization throughout the principal's private residence and associated household areas. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to deliver personalized housekeeping services in a luxury private household.The successful candidate will ensure that all assigned areas are maintained to an impeccable standard while respecting the privacy, preferences, and routines of the principal and family.Key ResponsibilitiesHousekeeping & CleaningMaintain the cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation of bedrooms, bathrooms, living areas, dining areas, dressing rooms, and other assigned household spacesPerform daily and periodic deep-cleaning duties in accordance with household standardsDust, vacuum, mop, polish, and clean surfaces using appropriate products and equipmentEnsure all rooms are prepared and presented according to the principal's preferences and daily scheduleMaintain high standards of cleanliness in guest areas and ensure rooms are prepared before and after guest visitsHandle delicate surfaces, luxury finishes, antiques, artwork, and high-value furnishings with appropriate careLaundry & Wardrobe CareManage household laundry, including washing, drying, ironing, steaming, folding, and organizing garments and linensHandle delicate, luxury, and specialty fabrics in accordance with care instructionsMaintain the organization and presentation of wardrobes, dressing rooms, and linen cupboardsMonitor household linen and clothing supplies and report any shortages or items requiring replacement or repairHousehold Organization & MaintenanceEnsure household items, amenities, and supplies are properly organized and replenishedMonitor cleaning products, toiletries, linens, and other household consumablesReport maintenance issues, damages, or repairs required to the House Manager or designated supervisorAssist with the preparation of the residence for special occasions, events, and visiting guestsSupport the wider household team with general household duties as requiredGuest & Principal ServicePrepare guest rooms and assigned areas to the highest standards before and during visitsRespond promptly and professionally to requests from the principal, family members, guests, or household managementMaintain a service-oriented approach while respecting personal space and privacyAssist with light serving duties, table setting, and clearing when requiredProfessional Standards & DiscretionMaintain strict confidentiality regarding the principal, family, household, and personal affairsRespect household security procedures, access protocols, and privacy requirementsDemonstrate professional conduct, reliability, punctuality, and a polished appearance at all timesWork collaboratively with other household staff to ensure seamless daily operationsKey Performance IndicatorsConsistently high standards of cleanliness and presentationPositive feedback from the principal, family, and household managementProper care and handling of household items, furnishings, and personal belongingsTimely completion of assigned housekeeping dutiesEffective organization and replenishment of household suppliesProfessionalism, discretion, and reliabilityRequirementsQualifications & ExperiencePrevious experience as a Housekeeper in a UHNW private household, luxury residence, palace, hotel, or high-end hospitality environmentMinimum 3-5 years of relevant housekeeping experience, preferably in a private householdExperience handling luxury furnishings, delicate fabrics, and high-value household itemsKnowledge of professional cleaning methods, laundry care, and household organizationAbility to follow detailed instructions and maintain consistent standardsPrevious experience working with a household team is an advantageSkills & CompetenciesExceptional attention to detailStrong organizational and time-management skillsHigh level of discretion and confidentialityProfessional, polite, and service-oriented attitudeAbility to work independently and as part of a teamFlexible and adaptable to changing household requirementsGood communication skills in EnglishAbility to work under pressure while maintaining high standardsPhysically fit and capable of performing housekeeping dutiesPersonal AttributesTrustworthy and discreetReliable and responsibleRespectful of privacy and personal boundariesCalm, composed, and professionalWell-presented and detail-orientedProactive and willing to go the extra mileComfortable working in a private, high-profile household environmentWorking ConditionsThe role may require flexible working hours, including weekends, public holidays, and occasional extended hours, depending on household requirementsThe position may be live-in, subject to the household's arrangementsThe role involves regular physical activity, including standing, walking, lifting, and cleaning
