Fertilizer Trader

Hays have partnered with a leading international trading and investment group to hire a Fertilizer Trader for their Dubai office. They are seeking a commercially driven trading professional with a proven track record in sourcing, marketing, and executing physical fertilizer transactions from the Middle Eastern and CIS markets.The selected candidate will play a key role across the full trade lifecycle, managing supplier and customer relationships, identifying profitable trading opportunities, negotiating contracts, and overseeing execution from origin to destination. This is an entrepreneurial role offering significant autonomy and exposure to global markets, working closely with senior leadership and international counterparties.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify, develop, and execute profitable trading opportunities across fertilizer and mineral commodity marketsManage the full trade lifecycle, including sourcing, procurement, sales, logistics, and contract executionBuild and maintain relationships with producers, suppliers, distributors, traders, and end-users globallyNegotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers and customersMonitor market trends, pricing movements, freight markets, and supply-demand dynamicsCoordinate closely with logistics, shipping, and operations teams to ensure successful trade executionKey Requirements5+ years of experience in fertilizer, chemical, mineral, or agricultural commodity tradingStrong experience trading products such as Urea, DAP, MAP, Sulphur, Rock Phosphate, NPK, or related commoditiesProven track record managing international trading transactions and commercial negotiationsSolid understanding of trade finance, Incoterms, letters of credit, and international logisticsEstablished supplier and buyer relationships across the Middle East, CIS, India, and wider Asian marketsThis is an exciting opportunity to join a growing international trading platform with strong backing, a global reach, and ambitious growth plans.
