high-performance networks.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Fiber Network Manager to lead the planning, design, deployment, operation, maintenance, optimization, and lifecycle management of fiber-optic network infrastructure.The successful candidate will provide technical and operational leadership across backbone, metro, access, FTTH, enterprise, data center, and inter-site fiber networks, ensuring high availability, capacity, reliability, service quality, and efficient network expansion.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute fiber network strategy, architecture, standards, and lifecycle plans.Lead fiber network planning, engineering, deployment, integration, testing, and optimization.Manage backbone, metro, access, FTTH, enterprise, data center, and inter-site fiber infrastructure.Develop network capacity plans based on traffic forecasts, customer requirements, and business growth.Lead route planning, fiber topology design, cable selection, fiber allocation, and network dimensioning.Evaluate existing infrastructure and identify opportunities for network expansion, resilience, and modernization.Coordinate fiber route surveys, feasibility assessments, site investigations, and technical designs.Manage fiber construction, installation, splicing, termination, testing, commissioning, and acceptance.Establish technical requirements for cables, ducts, conduits, cabinets, closures, patch panels, ODFs, and related infrastructure.Oversee optical transmission requirements including DWDM, CWDM, OTN, and related technologies where applicable.Monitor fiber network performance, availability, capacity, attenuation, optical power, and service quality.Lead troubleshooting of fiber cuts, high attenuation, degradation, equipment faults, and connectivity issues.Coordinate OTDR testing, optical power measurements, end-to-end testing, and fiber characterization.Establish preventive and predictive maintenance programs for fiber infrastructure.Manage emergency restoration activities following fiber cuts, civil works incidents, environmental events, or equipment failures.Develop network redundancy, protection, diverse routing, and disaster-recovery strategies.Coordinate fiber works with civil construction, utilities, roads, facilities, and infrastructure teams.Manage network expansion and modernization projects from design through operational handover.Review engineering drawings, route maps, splice diagrams, as-built documentation, and network records.Maintain accurate fiber inventory, route, duct, splice, cable, port, and connectivity databases.Ensure fiber network changes are properly documented, approved, implemented, and auditable.Manage fiber network vendors, contractors, construction companies, and field-service providers.Define vendor technical requirements, quality standards, service levels, and delivery expectations.Monitor contractor performance, construction quality, restoration times, and contractual commitments.Support procurement, tendering, technical evaluations, and supplier selection.Manage fiber network budgets, forecasts, resources, and operating expenditures.Develop business cases for network expansion, capacity upgrades, redundancy, and infrastructure investments.Coordinate fiber requirements with RAN, wireless, IP, core, data center, cloud, and enterprise network teams.Support fiber connectivity requirements for 4G, 5G, private wireless, broadband, and critical infrastructure.Implement appropriate network security, physical protection, access control, and infrastructure resilience measures.Ensure fiber deployments comply with applicable engineering, regulatory, safety, and right-of-way requirements.Coordinate permits, access approvals, utility interfaces, and infrastructure agreements where required.Lead technical audits, network inspections, quality reviews, and continuous-improvement initiatives.Evaluate new fiber technologies, monitoring systems, automation tools, and network-management platforms.Use analytics and automated monitoring to identify degradation, capacity constraints, and potential failures.Establish technical standards for fiber construction, testing, acceptance, restoration, and maintenance.Develop operational procedures, maintenance standards, escalation processes, and emergency response plans.Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and development for fiber engineering and operations teams.Prepare management reports covering network performance, incidents, projects, capacity, risks, costs, and improvement modernization progressStakeholder and customer satisfactionIdeal CandidateThe successful candidate should have strong experience in fiber-optic networks, telecommunications infrastructure, optical transport, network engineering, fiber deployment, or network operations management.The candidate should demonstrate:Strong knowledge of fiber-optic network architecture, design, deployment, and maintenance.Practical experience with backbone, metro, access, FTTH, enterprise, or data center fiber networks.Strong understanding of optical transmission technologies and fiber performance principles.Experience with fiber route planning, cable engineering, splicing, termination, and testing.Knowledge of OTDR, optical power meters, fiber characterization, and fault-location techniques.Experience managing fiber construction, commissioning, acceptance, and restoration activities.Understanding of DWDM, CWDM, OTN, Ethernet, and related optical networking technologies is desirable.Experience coordinating civil works, ducts, conduits, chambers, poles, towers, and right-of-way requirements.Strong understanding of redundancy, diverse routing, protection, and network resilience.Experience managing fiber contractors, vendors, field-service providers, and system integrators.Strong project-management, budgeting, planning, and stakeholder-management skills.Familiarity with GIS, fiber-management systems, network inventory platforms, and telecommunications OSS tools.Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.Knowledge of telecommunications standards, engineering practices, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance.Ability to manage multiple projects, incidents, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.Experience working with international and distributed teams.Strong leadership skills and a continuous-improvement mindset.
