Field Application Engineer

About the RoleRay Tech (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. is looking for an experienced Field Application Engineer to join our growing engineering team. As a Field Application Engineer (FAE) specializing in X-ray technology, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and application support for X-ray solutions across various industrial non-destructive testing (NDT) applications, including SMT/PCBA, semiconductor, automotive die casting, and food & beverage industries.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate closely with the Sales teams to understand customer requirements and develop tailored technical solutions that address specific application needs.Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, workshops, customer product/sample testing, evaluation, prepare test reports, communicate test results and technical findings to relevant stakeholders.Provide on-site technical support and training to customers, including product installation, system configuration, operation, troubleshooting and application support.Collaborate with R&D teams to translate customer requirements into technical solutions, application plans, project proposals, and support the implementation, system adjustment, image optimization, testing and validation of these solutions.Collect and analyze customer feedback, industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor products, and provide relevant market and technical insights to support product development and business growth.Maintain accurate records of technical, equipment, testing, application, customer support, and service activities and follow-up actions.Ensure all technical activities and applications comply with relevant safety, quality, and industry standards and requirements.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Department Head or immediate supervisor.Requirements:Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical disciplineMinimum 3 to 5 years of proven experience as a Field Engineer, Field Service Engineer, or similar technical field-based roleStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues independentlyProficiency in reading and interpreting technical documentation, schematics, and engineering drawingsExcellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical customersCompetency in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and software relevant to field engineering workValid driving license and willingness to travel regularly within the assigned service territoryStrong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation and recordsAbility to work independently whilst coordinating effectively with internal teams and external stakeholdersPreferred experience with industrial equipment, instrumentation, or automation systemsProficiency in Malay, Mandarin, and English, both written and spoken; proficiency in additional languages would be an advantage.Certification in relevant technical fields or manufacturer-specific training is an advantageWillingness to travel overseas for training, customer visits and project assignments.Position available in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru.
