Our partner is looking for a Field Service Engineer 2 based in the United States.This role is an opportunity to support critical medical equipment directly at hospitals and healthcare facilities.You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and equipment validations across assigned modalities.As a trusted technical partner, you will take ownership of customer issues from initial dispatch through final resolution.The position combines independent field work with close collaboration across customers, sales teams, regional specialists, and technical support.You will play a direct role in maintaining equipment reliability and helping healthcare providers deliver uninterrupted patient care.The role is primarily field-based and requires regular onsite work throughout the Columbia, South Carolina area.A company vehicle is provided, with occasional overnight travel and after-hours or rotating on-call coverage as needed.AccountabilitiesPerform timely and accurate preventative maintenance on medical equipment within hospitals and healthcare systems to support reliable clinical operations.Independently troubleshoot and complete moderately complex equipment repairs, installations, validations, and maintenance activities across assigned modalities.Lead customer communications and act as an escalation point for technical or service-related concerns, including during equipment installations.Take ownership of customer issues from dispatch or initial identification through resolution, ensuring timely follow-up and clear communication.Collaborate proactively with internal service teams, regional and national technical support, sales, and other stakeholders to develop effective customer solutions.Maintain strong customer relationships and identify opportunities to support contract renewals, on-demand services, and other value-added solutions.Follow applicable policies, procedures, hospital protocols, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards while maintaining complete and accurate daily service documentation.Record work performed, service metrics, equipment status, customer debriefs, and parts requirements accurately and promptly.Apply established escalation processes and contribute to corrective action plans when customer issues require additional technical or organizational support.Stay current with field modification instructions and applicable service information to ensure equipment is maintained according to required standards.RequirementsAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of medical equipment service experience; alternatively, equivalent military education with 3 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 6 years of medical equipment servicing experience.Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to maintain driving eligibility.Demonstrated experience working with both internal teams and external customers in a solution-oriented technical service environment.Strong troubleshooting, repair, installation, customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with regional, national, sales, and technical support teams.Experience using web-based applications and Microsoft Office tools.Willingness to participate in after-hours support and rotating on-call schedules, including weekends when required for critical issues or coverage.Ability to undertake occasional overnight travel based on business needs and geographic requirements.Legal authorization to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted, along with the physical capacity to bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch, squat, kneel, crawl, and remain seated or standing for extended periods.Ability to reach above and below shoulder level, flex and extend the neck, and perform tasks requiring good hand and finger dexterity, as well as the required color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.Experience servicing X-ray, CT, or Nuclear Medicine equipment is a strong plus.BenefitsCompetitive compensation aligned with experience, qualifications, and market considerations.Company-provided vehicle for onsite customer support.Primarily field-based work with a remote designation and regular onsite customer assignments.Relocation assistance may be available.Professional development opportunities and opportunities to build expertise in medical equipment service.Challenging technical work supporting critical healthcare environments.Comprehensive employment benefits and programs, subject to applicable eligibility requirements.Equal opportunity workplace committed to an inclusive and diverse environment.How Jobgether WorksWe use an AI-powered matching process to ensure your application is reviewed quickly, objectively, and fairly against the role's core requirements.
