Field Service Engineer (Remote)Columbus, OH (Regional Travel Required)Direct HireSalary Target: $80K - $105K Job Description:ConsultNet is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to support ventilator, patient monitoring, and related medical device systems within hospital and clinical environments. This role is responsible for providing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, software updates, installations, and technical support while serving as a trusted customer advocate. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ventilator technology, biomedical equipment support, and customer-facing healthcare environments.Required Skills Associate degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Respiratory Therapy, Information Technology, or related technical field required. Bachelor's degree preferred.Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.4+ years of experience servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing ventilators or respiratory therapy equipment.Experience diagnosing hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and performance-related system issues.Previous customer-facing technical support experience in healthcare, biomedical, respiratory therapy, or medical device environments.Basic understanding of hospital networking and wired/wireless connectivity preferred.Knowledge of clinical environments and healthcare customer support best practices.Technical troubleshooting and root-cause analysisStrong problem-solving abilitiesCustomer-focused mindsetExcellent verbal and written communication skillsKnowledge of healthcare technology connectivityUnderstanding of clinical and hospital environmentsAbility to work independently and within cross-functional teamsStrong organizational and documentation skillsProficiency with service management and ticketing processesAbility to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writingBonus/Soft Skills: Experience supporting ventilators, respiratory care systems, patient monitoring devices, or other critical-care medical technologies.Familiarity with hospital IT infrastructure, device networking, and interoperability standards.Experience working directly with clinical, biomedical, and healthcare technology management teams.Service, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair ventilators, patient monitoring equipment, and related medical device systems.Provide on-site and remote technical support, including installation, repair, customer training, and system optimization.Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, and connectivity issues.Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service activities according to manufacturer and company guidelines.Conduct equipment setup, calibration verification, operational testing, and performance validation.Manage service tickets, document activities accurately, and ensure timely issue resolution.Communicate service expectations, status updates, and follow-up activities to customers.Collaborate with hospital Biomed, Respiratory Therapy, Nursing, IT, and clinical teams.Support device integration, connectivity, and interoperability within healthcare environments.Troubleshoot wired and wireless device connectivity issues and escalate advanced networking concerns as needed.Work closely with Technical Support, Engineering, Product Specialists, and Quality teams to resolve complex issues.Maintain service records, inventory documentation, and compliance-related reporting.Stay current on ventilator technologies, patient monitoring systems, hospital networking fundamentals, and emerging medical device technologies.Adhere to company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.Maintain professional conduct, appearance, and customer-focused service at all times.Preferred certifications include: CBETBMETCompTIA Network+Respiratory Therapy certificationsMilitary technical trainingWelcome to ConsultNet, a premier national provider of technology talent and solutions.
