Field Services Engineer

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Provide high priority site visits to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair system problems,perform preventative maintenance procedures and technical upgrades on instruments and software.• Provide telephone and remote technical support to resolve equipment related problems.• Accurately report failure and repair data through company systems and to appropriatepersonnel.• Maintain clinical and technical knowledge to stay current with technology and productapplications.• Follow up on customer concerns and bring issues to resolution.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES REQUIRED:• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering OR anAssociate’s Degree/military training combined with related experience.• Two (2) year medical equipment service industry experience including demonstratedproficiency in resolving technical problems in medical imaging modality.• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, Local Area Networks, computers,disk drives and data management.• Experience with digital volt meters, laser power meters, optical alignment tools andspecialized test equipment.• Demonstrated proficiency in resolving complex technical problems in medical imagingmodality with minimal assistance.• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact in a professional and responsivemanner with highly specialized medical personnel.• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.• Ability and desire to multi-task and a willingness to take ownership through completion ofall responsibilities.• Must be a self-starter, have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and be flexiblein a dynamic team environment.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:• Travel estimated at 75%-80%• While performing the duties the employee is:o constantly required to reach to use computers and other office equipmento constantly required to view objects at close and distant rangeso frequently required to communicate with otherso frequently required to sit and stand• Requires fine manipulation and simple grasping in order to utilize equipment.• Requires occasional lifting and transporting of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
