Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are seeking a highly motivated Field Technician to support structured cabling projects, network infrastructure installations, and hardware deployments across multiple client locations. This role is fully travel-based and requires continuous travel via air and ground transportation to customer sites. Please note, this is not a remote position; it is posted as such for nationwide visibility.ResponsibilitiesInstall, terminate, label, and test structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic, and low-voltage cablingPerform cable routing, cable tray installation, rack and cabinet organization, and cable management according to industry standardsInstall, configure, and deploy PCs, printers, scanners, network switches, wireless access points, and other endpoint devicesConduct workstation setups, hardware replacements, equipment upgrades, and technology refresh projectsPerform OS installations, upgrades, imaging, and basic network device configurationTroubleshoot cabling, connectivity, hardware, and software issues in a timely mannerTest and certify cable runs using appropriate testing equipment and document installation resultsAssist with network infrastructure deployments, including patch panels, MDF/IDF buildouts, and equipment rack installationsProvide Tier 1 technical support and basic troubleshooting for end users and client personnelCommunicate technical issues clearly and professionally to customers, project managers, and team membersMaintain a safe, clean, and compliant work environment, especially within regulated facilitiesCoordinate with project managers regarding project schedules, site readiness, workload, and status updatesQualificationMust live within a reasonable distance of a major airportAbility and willingness to travel 100% of the time (flights and driving required)Experience with structured cabling installations, terminations, testing, and troubleshootingFamiliarity with network infrastructure components including switches, patch panels, wireless access points, and racksHands-on experience with PC hardware deployment, workstation setup, and peripheral installationAbility to read floor plans, cabling diagrams, and installation documentationStrong organizational skills with excellent attention to detailAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects in fast-paced environmentsExcellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skillsExperience working in healthcare, commercial, industrial, or other regulated environments is a plusStrong work ethic, adaptability, and willingness to work in dynamic field environments
