Apply & track with Apply EdgeWe are looking to employ a Trials Manager for our site in Drinkstone.Envirofield Ltd is a leading independent contract field trials company, delivering high-quality agricultural and environmental research across the UK. We specialise in field trials, soil sampling, and environmental monitoring, supporting farmers and research partners with reliable, data-driven insights. We are now looking to recruit a Trials Manager for our team in Drinkstone. This will be a hands-on, practical field-based role where the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating multiple trials, building strong relationships with clients and growers, and contirbuting towards wider operations across Envirofield.In this role, you will:Manage, plan and deliver high-quality trials across various crops and trial types, following ORETO standards and protocols.Lead or support site selection, drilling, spraying, data collection, and harvesting.Mentor, train and manage staff and help maintain high technical standards across the team.Conduct assessments including plant counts, pest/disease ID, and crop health monitoring.Operate and maintain trial equipment (e.g. plot combines, sprayers), manage inputs and sample logistics, and support fleet compliance.Oversee soil and environmental sampling, including SMN testing and porous pot installations.Ensure accurate data capture, report updates, and safe working practices.Travel to other sites and settings to support with operations on an ad-hoc basis.What you’ll need:Proven experience in field trials, ideally including official trials (e.g. AHDB, BSPB).Practical mindset with confidence using agricultural machinery.Strong observation skills for assessing crop health and trial performance.Clear communication skills with good attention to detail and organisation.A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to other sites and bases on an ad-hoc and occasional basis.A HGV licence, or a willingness to undergo HGV training and obtain a HGV licence (through Envirofield).PA1/PA2 and BASIS/FACTS certificates, or a willingness to obtain them, will be required.Why join us?This is an excellent opportunity to work for a progressive, industry-leading company, renowned for its commitment to staff development and wellbeing.
