Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant

Role Description This full-time remote Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant role supports a second-hand clothes collector and wholesaler based in Paris, France. The role involves processing supplier and customer invoices, maintaining accurate ledger entries, reconciling bank statements, and handling petty cash records. The Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant will assist with credit control activities, including monitoring outstanding balances, preparing payment reminders, and updating customer accounts. Daily tasks include preparing basic financial reports, supporting month-end closing, coordinating with operations and sales teams on financial queries, and ensuring documentation is properly filed and stored. The role also requires clear communication with internal and external stakeholders and adherence to company policies and relevant financial procedures.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Accounting and Finance skills, including familiarity with basic bookkeeping, invoicing, and account reconciliation.Candidates should possess Credit Control skills to monitor receivables, follow up on overdue accounts, and support cash flow management.Candidates should possess Petty Cash management skills, including accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of small cash transactions.Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to interact with suppliers, customers, and internal teams in a clear and professional manner.Candidates should ideally have experience with accounting software (e.g., Excel, cloud-based tools) and strong attention to detail.Candidates should be able to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and handle confidential financial information responsibly.A relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience, is beneficial; knowledge of French or international trade practices is an advantage.
