Finance Director

City of Fort Thomas, KY The City of Fort Thomas is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Finance Director to join our leadership team. This role serves as the City’s Chief Financial Officer while providing executive-level support to the City Administrator regarding all aspects of the finance operations. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with municipal finance expertise and a commitment to public service. Position Details

• Status: Full-time, on-site
• Salary Range: $95,000 – $150,000 (depending on qualifications and experience) Qualifications
• Graduate of a four-year college or university with a degree in accounting, public administration, business administration, finance, or a related field.
• 4–7 years of progressively responsible experience in local government accounting, or any combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Professional certification (CPA, CGFM, or equivalent) preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. Key Responsibilities
• Direct the Finance Department, ensuring compliance with GAAP, GASB, and all financial regulations.
• Oversee accounting, auditing, investments, debt management, and financial reporting.
• Develop annual budgets, revenue forecasts, and long-range financial projections in collaboration with the Mayor, City Administrator, and City Council.
• Provide financial guidance for capital improvement projects and economic development initiatives.
• Serve on the City’s Leadership Team, assisting the City Administrator regarding all aspects of the finance operations, policy development, and interdepartmental coordination.
• Supervise and develop Finance Department staff; support other departments on budgeting, accounting, and resource management. Benefits Full-time employment with the City of Fort Thomas includes an excellent benefits package:
