Finance Executive

Location: Dubai, UAEReporting to: Chief Financial OfficerCareer path: Finance Executive → Finance Manager → Finance ControllerWe are seeking a detail-oriented, hands-on Finance Executive to support and oversee finance activities across our UK and UAE operations. Reporting directly to the CFO, the successful candidate will maintain accurate financial records, produce management information, manage debt and support the group’s month-end and year-end requirements.This role offers a clear progression route into Finance Manager and subsequently Finance Controller.Responsibilities include (but not limited to):Create and present monthly management reports for the group.Review bank reconciliations across UK and UAE entities.Support the preparation and review of monthly management accounts.Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using Xero.Review sales invoices for accuracy, completeness and correct treatment.Review employee expense claims and supporting documentation.Prepare accounts payable and outstanding liabilities reports.Manage aged debt, credit control and customer payment follow-up.Monitor cash movements, outstanding balances and payment deadlines.Investigate and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.Maintain accurate financial records and supporting audit documentation.Assist the CFO with month-end and year-end close activities.Support year-end accounts, audit requests and statutory filings.Help strengthen financial controls and reporting processes across both jurisdictions.Essential Experience requiredDemonstrable experience creating monthly management reports.Strong practical experience of Xero bookkeeping.Experience of debt management, credit control and collections.Experience reviewing bank reconciliations and management accounts.Understanding of sales invoicing, accounts payable and expense claims.Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.Ability to identify discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution.Confidence working across multiple group entities or jurisdictions.Ability to work directly with and report clearly to senior finance leadership.Organised approach to deadlines, month-end and year-end requirements.Desirable ExperiencePrevious responsibility for finance activities across the UK and UAE.Experience supporting audits and statutory year-end filings.Experience improving finance controls, reporting or bookkeeping processes.Progress towards, or completion of, a recognised accounting qualification.Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will combine strong bookkeeping fundamentals with the ability to review financial information critically and produce clear management reporting. They will be comfortable remaining hands-on while gradually assuming broader ownership of group finance operations. Accuracy, accountability and the ambition to progress into finance leadership are essential.
