Fuse Energy is an energy startup on a mission to make energy abundant and affordable, fast. We combine first-principles thinking with cutting-edge technology to build a radically better energy system. We've raised over $200M from top-tier investors including Balderton, Lakestar, Accel, Creandum, Lowercarbon, Ribbit, 20VC, Hummingbird and Collaborative Fund, alongside strategic angels including Nico Rosberg and GPs behind Meta, Revolut, Spotify and Uber. We're building a fully integrated energy company: developing our own solar, batteries and other generation projects, building our own hardware, improving and developing grid infrastructure, trading power in real time, using AI across the business, and installing distributed energy in homes. By selling directly to consumers we cut out the middleman, lower costs and pass the savings on to our customers. As a Finance Intern you'll do real work from day one, alongside a team that came from top banks, funds and startups. This isn't a back-office finance team: we sit right next to the business, across operations, deals and everything in between. You'll get rare ownership and exposure for an internship, and a real chance to earn a full-time seat. The internship runs as two tracks: Business Operations or Corporate Finance.ResponsibilitiesAcross both tracks: reconcile invoices against contracts, chase down discrepancies, and find cost savings and operational improvements across the businessBusiness Operations track: build the automations, scripts and internal tooling that strip manual work out of treasury, accounting and reporting; implement AI to reconcile, report and analyse faster; turn the reporting cycle into clean, largely self-running pipelines (actuals, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow); stand up the data and systems backbone that tax, audit and compliance depend onCorporate Finance track: support live financings across project, corporate and trading debt; help execute acquisitions end to end, from market research and modelling to diligence and data-room coordination; jump onto high-visibility special projects; build and stress-test the models behind transactions; support partnership negotiations with cost and revenue analysisRequirementsPenultimate or final-year student, or recent graduate, in engineering, maths or another STEM disciplineVery strong first-principles thinkingComfortable in a fast, ambiguous, high-intensity environmentAnalytical, structured and proactive, someone who takes ownership and chases things downA genuine interest in the track you're applying for, whether operations and process or deals and financingStrong financial modelling and Excel skillsBonus: a prior internship in banking, investing, consulting, accounting or a startup finance team; for Corporate Finance, exposure to M&A, financing or strategy; for Business Operations, coding, process and automationBenefitsCompetitive salaryFully expensed tech to match your needsBreakfast and dinner allowance for office-based employeesAs we hire globally, benefits vary by location.
